You’ll get there!  I always make my pda with actual potato broth as opposed to flakes.  After I pull it off the potatoes, I let it settle and decant, then cut in half or more with tap and use 1% dextrose.  Sometimes I’ll grind up bread yeast with the pestle and mortar and add that as well...I’ll have to dig through my notes to see how much....it’s minimal and not sure how much of an impact it has.

Pretty impressive Mycolorado. That mycelium looks pretty strange. Is the color a light brown?

Is noticed in my jars that I never fruited the mycelium is turning from white to a brownish color and wasn't sure if that's normal.

Yeah, that shit comes in a range of colors. Typically, it’s a creamy color with dark brown and rust tones especially where sclerotia want to form.  The cultures on those grows ranged from white, gray, tan, beige green and blue.  It’s was pretty crazy.

I’ve only ever had white that turns to yellow or slightly brown I’ve never had green or beige or anything that looks like that, that is interesting though.

That's pretty interesting. Makes me wonder how many people tossed some jars thinking it was contaminated lol.

I'm getting really interested in trying some agar work but don't have a flow hood nor the room and my wife is already bitching about all these tubs I got :willynilly::facepalm: so Im finding it hard to get another for a SAB.

What to do what to do lol.

Oddly enough, my best fruiting culture (yields better than most cubes) is an isolate from a stone clone

If I hadn’t laid the spores myself and watched them develop, I’d be inclined to agree!

@ c10 - I’ve had great fruiters from stone clones as well...I think it just goes to show that these things do what they want and it’s up to us to propagate the traits we desire once we find them, regardless of the source.  I’m fiddling with a stone culture now...looking to get back into the swing of things and will try to sneak in a tub when I get some lions mane fruiting.

All of my stone clones were the best fruiters as well. Just made LCs of a-strain isolate and Beulah tamp stone clone. Put huautla and chicon nindo to fruiting yesturday as well. And papuana which smells exactly like mexicana.

Idk if there’s a correlation between size and potency. I’ve got such a wide range of tamp fruits that I’m curious though. Some are pencil thick and 9 inches long while others are like toothpick size.

I just need to start eating them I guess.




They come out different each flushes, some are short and thick, some tall and thin.

I've not noticed any potency differences between them.

New to stones/ ATL, which of these plates looks moldiest to you? Any decent options to transfer? First t1 plate is fastest but I could use another eye or two..

Looks about right.  Stone producer cultures can look pretty weird.  They tend to have a velvety/fuzzy creamy look to them. 

Here are a few that have that fuzzy creamy look.  The last is a germ plate.
