Yep.  My humidifier and humidistat are now dedicated to my orchids so not sure what all’s happening in it.  I have a heat lamp pointed at a tub of water that kicks on for 30min every hour to bring the temp up and add some humidity. It bounces around between low to high 70s and prolly runs around 60% rh, so not real ideal.  Yeah, they’re still coming in...was just hoping it would be more even.

For hopefully stony cultures I look for those with dark brown undersides that sometimes buckle and split the agar.

For fruiting cultures I look for those with veiny conduits and anything that looks like it wants to fruit on the plate.

Sometimes you’ll get both.

It will be nice to have some recently wild mexicana prints to dive into genetically. Hopefully I’ll get some good F1s to share...

Typically once the culture has grown to the edge of the plate.  Also, I’ve noticed my cultures tend to fruit better on pda than on mea.

Harvested two four months old jars.

24g of small stones.
My jars doesn’t like to make stones but they fruit in abundance 😊

I find they all grow about the same speed for me regardless of the nute source.  I’d say nute %, temps and species would be more the determining factors for how fast they run across a plate.

I had to leave for a week and put this huautla tray in my automated chamber before I left. I figured I left the fogger too low but didn’t want it to run out. Well it was dry as hell when I got back but it started pinning anyway.

Yes huautla mexicana I was thinking of running the big plate pin in the middle but the others are looking better. Think I’ll just make a multi culture of all.

Just spawned 2 qts A-strain to 4 qts sub in a propagation tray.
2.5lb grain to maybe 1.8lbs sub in a tray.
And spawned a beulah tamp shoebox 1:1 ratio.
Still have chicon nindo and huautla to spawn but I’m pastuerizing sub now.

Yeah, tamps.  First time I’ve tried them on coir.  Usually put them to a manure based sub.

My newest tubs...one pinned decently...kinda duds on the others but im still hoping there late bloomers.  Thinking next round i want to put the casing on thicker than I did on these.  May try a bit of rabbit poo too..
These are grain to coir only cased in 50/50 jiffy/sand.
