 noone looses a finger or hurts themselves in any of those videos

the first video in that link is a dude complaining about a buck. before he even shows us whats wrong with it he says "well ya know i torture test my knives every day when i use em. i pry, baton, you know" so i didnt even need to watch the whole thing.

those people are using shitty 30$ knives for prying and shit which means they are using them wrong. of course theyre going to break. they are intentionally pushing the limits.

i'm not gonna go on about whether folding knives are stupid or not lol. i'm comfortable enough with knives to know that would never happen to me.

I don't know if this has already been discussed but most people wouldn't be able to fight properly with a knife without training

It takes practice and skill to be good with a blade, just buying a knife and assuming you're automatically safe is foolish

Anyone more well-trained than you could easily disarm you and use the blade against you

:lolz0rz: dude whatever your crazy if you don't think those things fail straight from the factory like that or after a couple years of regular use.  If you watch that video in an honest manor you'll also see he does that torture test to all his knives.

all knives are not created equal, there are defects from the factory on any quality of knife from time to time.  Its the natural of the universe, shit happens. :cookiemonster: but in gresh's universe shit never happens :elmo:

 let it go dude. i never said that

why dont you actually post a knife you carry instead of trying to convince us that folding knives will suddenly chop your finger off?

I made a simple statement that it happens, you are trying to convince us it doesn't and is user error, wake the fuck up.

The key to fighting with a knife is not letting the other person know you have a knife until its sticking into them.

:atom: "The copper wire pipe has a significant amount of AC electricity running through it, causing it to act like a really strong electromagnet. In the metal slug, eddy currents form due to the magnetic field the copper wire pipe is causing while the copper wire pipe has high frequency AC flowing through it. The metal slug’s electric resistance causes a portion of the electric energy to turn into heat, but the heat builds up until the metal slug becomes white hot and melts."

My great grandfather fashioned a knife and it was passed through the generations. It has a hand tooled leather sheath and has to be at least 100 years old by now. We found it while moving. Thought it was gone for good. It is in dire need of repair but I'm afraid to touch it. It isn't perfect by any means but it's still a fine knife and tooled sheath. I don't know what the handle is made of but it is very nicely balanced and feels smooth in the hand. The knife I carry in my purse is a 38 special.

Most idiots who try to wield a knife in a fight are at an extreme disadvantage against a trained fighter, they are only thinking with one hand and can be easily disarmed.
Unless you are a Bushido warrior, best to not bust out a knife in most combat situations as it will only escalate the situation.

I almost never carry a knife but when I do its the folder from my former Hashish Kit, it looks like a $3 knife but actually its a rather fine blade.

Gerber Paraframe :

I had one of these, probably still do somewhere bit it was such garbage I dont care

the frame was poorly machined and it wouldnt lock because it would never engage
with the blade, it was stiff for opening  and awkward to handle, I found a bear
grylls branded gerber at work, it was the same sort of crap quality with a lock in
a location that made it easy to break loose if you gad a grip on the knife. both
were poorly designed when it came to ergonomics and function and based on this
trend of shit production I wont be buying another gerber
