Shroom espresso?
    #2220883 - 01/05/04 05:12 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I was reading over at poppies.org that people were using espresso machines to make poppy pod tea, and I'm curious how that would work with making highly concentrated psilocybe tea. It's supposed to be highly efficient and quick.

http://www.poppies.org/forum/DCForumID5/653.html

Apparently it works on the same or similar principles as "supercritical fluid extraction"

http://www.kobelco.co.jp/p108/p14/sfe01.htm

I don't have either shrooms or an espresso machine right now, or I would be trying it myself and reporting the results. If you do decide to try it, you should probably fill the cup about 3/4 full with finely ground mushroom powder. I have no idea how many grams that would be, so please weigh it first, and take a liquid equavelent of about 3 grams.

I purchased a stove top espresso maker similar to this. I suggest that if you do get one, make sure it is made out of stainless steel and NOT aluminum. The aluminum will quickly be eaten up by the acids in the coffee (if you use it for coffee).

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

I'm pretty sure DMT and Salvinorin could handle those temperatures.

Maybe an espressohuasca would work.

Id say just make an espresso and mix in some mushroom powder, probably work better and keep a little more content.

Tested it
Look like there no potency loss
and the quantity of stuff to ingest is minimal.

Water steams @ 212 F -- you're good. By a margin of like 175 F.

Those ratings are from 4 years ago, it's plausible at the time he was spamming a lot or something of that sort. Sometimes spammers who are actually real people get confused with spam bots, like the kind that advertises on forums.

Many espresso machines will also provide steam for steaming/frothing milk. So many machines do have boilers at 15psi which can deliver this steam.

But the water delivered to the coffee is usually about 90C, as boiling water makes bad coffee. The hot water is forced through at about 130psi. Many people wrongly presume the pressure is from the water, like driving 15psi 121C through the coffee. But its a pump that creates the 130psi. Some may use steam pressure but most you see in cafes will not.

I guess many home ones will got get to 130psi too.

I've had pickeled button mushrooms before.I don't see why it wouldnt work. Other than the flavor would probably be horrendous.

I'm also very curious about the espresso extraction.

I don't doubt that. It could possibly degrade some or all of the psilocin but psilocin isn't really water soluble anyway and usually is only present in small amounts.
