He wrote alot of books about religion and spiritually based mainly on his experiments with nitrous oxide. They're kind of like Joyce's The Varities of Religious Experience. Dig through the links at Erowid and you might be able to find some of his works. (Shaffer drug library maybe?)

I was just reading the experiences in his "The Varieties of Religious Experiences" concerning N02. Really hit home with the cosmic consciousness and feelings of infinity.

The house I live in, we got from the family of an old dude who lived here before us. He died of a heart attack while shoveling the driveway a few winters ago (we still have the shovel!).

why would you segregate yourself from the rest of the world? how do you know that these writers are "enlightened?" for all you know they are just spewing forth what another is whispering in their ear....

you're taking an elitist attitude which saddens me. "I don't understand yet," when in actuality it seems that it will take you those 9 years just to understand....

now I see, you havent opened your third eye yet....dont fret child, the universe will lift you up out of your blindness soon enough. I suggest you get yourself some crystals and rub them on your mind-chakra, that would be a good first step towards enlightenment.
