Something like that. It's clearly missing some things though, looks like a light and a viewing plate, anyone know what exactly?

ugh...canada...so brutal. Costs 50$us to get those imported. I'm getting some knock offs from china, 100 for $20CAD
Falcon is my favorite brand as well, I got a whole set of 50mm for free, I so wish I hadn't used them all like I did because they were the best.

Thats a great price!

But theyre small aren't they? 60mm x 15mm ? I usually use the 100mm x 15mm plates. But I might try these because the shipping is free

I love how heavy duty this brand is... the cheaper plates break if Im too rough wrapping them

Redz I got knock of chinese. Was pretty disappointed especially when one of the sleeves came crushed to shit :mad2:

And mishpunx yeah dude I would have rather the 100 mm. But I'm going for quality AND quantity and also I'm on a budget always so this was the best option by far

Lol just looked in the box I was about to recycle it.. Found a 6th sleeve. So 120 culture dishes for 28, roughly $0.23 a plate you can't beat it

Getting serious

Greenhouse arrived at about 9 this morning

I also PC'd 11 grain jars and 36 PastyPlates- as well as bought 24 more jars and soaked Oats and WBS last night.

I'll be switching to a pond fogger in a bucket with fan and ducting here in a few days.

if shipping cost outweigh the worth of getting fresh sleeves. pasty plates are the best man. you can recycle them over and over and over. ive used mine hundreds of times. and there were no shipping costs involved. so, you pay a little more up front for the initial glad rounds. but damn they last forever. i have to say, it is one of my favorite threads on this forum.

My thoughts and personal opinions on pasty plates:

Cons:
-Really hard to get a good look at/take a photo of the culture. Blue top and opaque plastic make it difficult to get a clear look.
-Size makes them pile up and I end up having these things flying around everywhere and taking up too much room in my fridge.
-Folding paper towels and wrapping with foil (i'm lazy)

Pros:
-Price is nice and cheap
-Reusable over and over
-Made it possible for me to start using agar
-Don't have to pour (but pouring aint so bad)

So i'm still going to use pasty's. Actually going to make some master cultures in some because I don't have tubes. But I think for day to day culture work Imma start using petris because they make more sense to me right now.

I like pasty plates to stretch my disposable plAtes and/ or in between orders. I find them kinda hard to fit a lot in a fridge so I keep my master cultures on regular pitres and wrap with parafilm.

It is way less work to cook a flask of agar and pour a stack than it is to wrap all those pasty plates though.

They have PP5 deli containers that are shorter, wider and totrally clear that I want to get. Now those are perfect, you can see yyour culture thru the lid! They're only an inch or so deep too!

As far as reusing plates goes, regular petris are easily cleaned in a bleach soak before drying in a flowhood and using immediately.

I'm been harvesting a multipore tub over the past couple of days and thought of this tool.  Knives are clumsy and too thick to easily glide through a stem. Twist and pull makes a mess that you have to clean up before dehydrating.

Quick little DIY project here.  It took 5 minutes to make and it works so wonderfully.  The super thin blade glides through the stem and the angled handle lets you get into the tub and harvest around the still maturing fruits.

I roughed the surface on the plastic and used 5 minute setting two part epoxy glue.  In case you can't already tell, the handle and blade are from a cheap disposable razor(Gillette Sensor 2)
