don't know where it fits on the whacky scale, but I had an extra quart of WBS and mixed it with about 3 actual quarts of sterilized CVG. All the lids are loose for GE and I just put them on a shelf about 30 mins ago. The WBS has been 100% .colonized for about 3 weeks.

Spawn thrown into a house fern

what followed the first flush was a plant full of green mold and slimy grains. Nasty stuff! I don't recommend putting grains into anything you don't plan on eventually tossing outside

Hardwood fuel pellets and coir supplimented with some oats.

This was oak pellets spawned with oat spawn, tho spawning to wood in open air can be risky.

very cool. I'll dump my wedge into some rye and get some pellets. Thanks, bud.

I would consider liming the wood and proper pasteurization with a high spawn ratio for sure, wood is a trich magnet for sure. I can't stress this enough. The only reason I attempted it was this culture is really aggressive.

Is wood absolutely necessary?

Technically they are a wood loving species but I have had some success with coir, just don't expect quite as much out of it. I have not tried just coir with them however.

I've spawned oysters and reishi to wood open air before, sterilized wood that is not even pasteurized, however I used a 1:1 spawn to substrate and the oyster and reishi cultures were some of the fastest mycelium I have ever worked with. I worked fast and tried to do some pre-cleaning as well as had the air off which I don't think helped too much but it's possible I wouldn't suggest trying what I did but I really had nothing to lose and said fuck it.

Second flush of the antifreeze jug grow. Might drill a half dozen holes in the bottom for the third flush to try and improve fae

heres one im messing with.

so i slurried 1 quart wbs grain with 1 pint of water to a 66 quart tub with 9 quarts volume substrate cvg. ive tried several ratios and this ones working ok. i think i might try 2 quart wbs grain to 3/4 quart of water slurry next. im guessing that may work out right.

blend looks like wbs soup.

day 4. im still counting this one out anyway. im not expecting anything but trich.
