Novelty grows * 6
    #20775168 - 10/31/14 01:01 AM (6 years, 3 months ago)

Post your novelty grows here  You know the ones that were done for the hell of it, not expecting amazing BE or whatever, just something ya did for fun cause ya had some extra spawn or just because. Let see some wacky :awesomenod: I will update this OP with some of the completed grows or as new ones are posted to keep interest and to let new people get a feel for the thread. Any suggestions to the format are welcome.

Oh man. I rarely take pics. Many times in the past though I'd put sub from mushroom bottoms in aluminum foil when harvesting. Then I'd ball it up and forget about it. A week later there'd be a mushy popping out.
Dig the vase. Cool thread.

Shit that would be hilarious,  be sure to take pics next time. I actually feel like novelty grows are something of a lost art. Used to be lots but not anymore. I have a few planned here but I can't believe I'm the only guy still doing shit. Cups of shrooms, or the reincarnation of RR's bible would be ballin. I remember one guy who filled a teddy bear with spawn  we need more shit like that here :awesomenod:

I totally agree man. I've just been too busy. Tonight while G2Ging i big ball of grain spilled out. It's on my counter top. I'll do something with that and report back in a week.

I attempted this was month old coir and 2 month old leftover spawn. Little Disaronno cups! Unfortunately I didn't have a proper way of fruiting it and overall it was just bad timing. There were plenty of pins though when I buried it. I want to try those again soon.

You have inspired me to try something I've been thinking about. Next time I do a dunk, I'm gonna spread grass seed on a cake and then the grass will root and the shrooms will grow up through it like in the yard. Hey, WTF... maybe the grass roots will help/ hurt the cake. Just for fun.

This isn't exactly on thread, but whenever I am done with a brand spankin' new store bought syringe, I suck some water into it and inoculate with that water. I always get growth with it--- usually weak at first--- but growth. I don't do that so much anymore because I'm doing LC now and hardly have to buy new syringes.

I think no one posts novelty stuff on here because there are so many Know-it-alls who are just waiting for a chance to face-palm someone.

There is a big difference between something done for fun and something guaranteed to fail. I like to think most of the know it alls can tell the difference

I would also like to see some crazy scale grows, small and big :super:

Just for you pasty.
little ball of grain wouldn't break up in a master when G2Ging. So i crumbled it and stuck it in a water bottle for this thread.
This thread rocks!  All you lurkers get on board. I've not purposely done a novelty grow in a long fucking time and already I'm getting some if the joy I've lost over the years.

Hell yea. I'm thinking so too.
I've got a few neat ideas in my head too. I'm really excited for this. Something to take the monotony out of just growing mushrooms.

This isn't too novelty since I chopped em all up to be more functional but here's a 2liter, half a juice bottle, my milk jug fc, a plastic take out tray.
