Hey,
I was just wondering, is there any feasible way to get some agar mycelium brew and then put it over sterilized straw or dung and get it to grow and then casing it? I was thinking of maybe baking some BRF and vermiculate at 400 degrees (F) for about 30-40 minutes and then mixing it with the right amounts of mycelium brew to make it right for the PF tek and then trying to put it in a sealed aquarium to make it grow faster or on top of perlite and then when it colonizes, add the top layer to make a casing mix. This is starting to sound more and more like just doing it the original PF Tek way.

Nuthin new about that. If your gonna do it just make sure you are in a very sterile environment.

It will not work, you don't want agar in a liquid inoculant, and you don't want to inoculate a bulk substrate with an agar culture or a liquid inoculant. You need to go agar or liquid inoc to grain/cakes/whatever, then to bulk substrate such as straw/dung/compost or whatever, then case when colonized.

true, you wouldn't want the agar in the mix. But spawning bulk with a liquid innoculant then casing is feasible. You just mix steralized bulk substrate (grain,or bulk PF if thats your thing) with the correct ratio of liquid innoculant, to give you the proper moisture content. Like I said its been done before, I've only heard of it being done in a flow hood though. I wouldn't reccomend it with out a flow hood or glove box.
