What do I do when 'shroom grows into perilite?

Okay, a couple of my mushrooms, that are shaded from the light behind the cake (I try to get light everywhere, but its not possible) Have grown down, and one is touching the perilite. What should I do? Pick it now? or will it turn around or fatten up?

I know that if you put cakes directly on perlite then the cake will end up soaking up moisture from the perlite. But the mushroom itself.. im not too sure.. it might suck up some moisture and get fat.. ? i dont see anything bad coming from this though.

the shrooms will be totally fine. i had a similar situation on my cakes. they will simply grow out from under the cake then start growing upwards.

no need to pick them early. some of those will probably turn out to be real mosters.
