i mean liquid cultures are fast! 3-4 days is a good average for lc's to colonize a full quart.

For you guys saying how awesome this tek is have you messed around with LCs much? LC gets a lot of bad rep but it seems like many don't even try it because of this.

yes ive messed with lc's for years.

My blender is to big for the regular mouth, and to small to use wide mouths.  My wife is stoked though, she never even knew the blender came apart and now she can get the nooks and crannies of the blender super clean.  The hunt is on for a cheap blender!  I want to try this tek, I've got stacks of plates sitting around, this would be a good way to use them up and stretch them out.

i got the oster for 15 at walmart but i'm having to glue the sealing ring onto the blade attatchment because

i have to use a jar ring while pcing as the oster base will melt. I found it's kind of a pain in the ass to get the lid on and off cleanly while making the transfer because the gasket is not attached... I'm thinking about siliconing the gasket to the blender attachment to prevent this. is your gasket attached? or do you just grab both at the same time? I guess siliconing it can't hurt so i may try with one of mine and see if it leaks and sticks well enough.

I should be testing the siliconed one tomorrow. Other than that it works good. I just soaked the base in bleach water then wiped down with alcohol before i screwed it onto the jar. good luck maybe you can find one with thicker plastic on the base so you can pc it too like muda

the sealing ring can just sit on top of the lip of the jar. then place blade assembly over it. then the ring from a 1/2 pint lid will screw it right onto the jar.
see pictures

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20431698#20431698

you don't have to glue it to the jar. you just have to lift quickily. generally when i pc the gasket will stick to the blade assembly when i lift it.  please don't do this. unless you only silicone the side thats attached the the blade assembly. also if you intend to use the blender again you might want to think about it. let us know how this works out. im interested to see.

yeah that's what I said silicon the ring to the blade assembly. It was very hard to get back on with it not attached. I ended up having to readjust the ring because it leaked which also possibly let contams in. I saw in that tek where he uses tin foil to reduce the risk of this happening but seems much easier to just glue it on. Thanks for the input appreciate it.

Oh yeah, I have used LC's with great results. I just don't recommend them to new growers. It should be in the advanced Cultivation section only because there are so many ways to mess up a grow if not done right.

Sorry about the TC comment, now that I reread this, it sounds pretty dickish. I have followed a lot of your grows Eat you, Love the results; and I have learned a lot from reading your posts.
I have never had 3-4 day results with LC's. Usually 8-9 to full colonization. Plus you have to way 3-4 for the LC to grow out to a point where the mycelium is viable enough to use.

This is my blender you should all just try to get one of these.

I notice no one has left a review on Amazon for this blender.  Would be hilarious to see a bunch of you magic mush mycophiles recommending this blender for making LI's because its base will make it through a PC.  :lmafo:

On Amazon Review:

This blender is great for making liquid inoculant for mushroom cultivation
By Muda Fuka on August 22, 2014
Item Package Quantity: 1
This blender is great for making liquid inoculant for mushroom cultivation. The threads fit a tall half pint mason jar and the plastic base can withstand sterilisation temperatures. Just make sure to get the one in the first picture model # 58130R

I checked the "this review was helpful" button
