Dennis Kucinich for president? What do you guys think?
    #2008480 -

To be honest, I usually don't give a damn about politics. Maybe that makes me a bad American, maybe not. However, I know that i don't agree with what's going on in America today. So i've been looking around the world wide web. I've realized that if we don't like the way things are going, we need to change them. I came across this link. Dennis Kucinich 2004 . As i said, since i don't know much about politics, i may be missing some important details. Quotes like:
Quote:
The "Patriot Act" is not what American patriots have fought and died for. To allow our Bill of Rights to be nullified without judicial supervision invites tyranny. The Attorney General has been handed unfettered power to wiretap, search, jail, and invade our most sacred right to privacy. The government must not be allowed, without probable cause or warrant, to snoop on our communications, medical records, library records, and student records.

and ..
Quote:
Drug policy will emphasize treatment over criminalization, and not a rampaging war that erodes Constitutional freedoms, privacy, and law enforcement resources.

Have definatly sparked my interest. So, what do you guys think? All replies are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks.

Good idea, but the American public could never make that wise a decision.

Well, unless I find things about this candidate that i don't agree with, I'm seriously considering registering to vote.  If we want things to change, we have to change them.  The more damage Bush or anyone else does to our country, the easier it will be for someone to step up in his place.  Let's just hope we aren't too far gone by then :frown:

he's an interesting candidate.

I like him most so far.

He's a socialist jackass.

So a tax break is more important to you than ending the Drug War and the Patriot Act? Well, at least we know where your priorities lie.

Kucinich is by far the most issue focused man on the feild and possibly the most intelligent also.He is by far my first choice of the democratic field. In the debates he clearly spoke his postions in real speech instead of the platitudinous rhetoric spewed by the rest.
The real question is ,Can HE win against the Bush/Rove/Cheney cabal?
And luvdemshrooms,if you say he is the worst of the bunch I will take that as a sterling recomendation of his qualifications

I really like Dennis Kucinich. He is an impassioned man and he can actually orate. So, that puts him above the chimp now in charge by a landslide in actual qualifications to run the country.

But really... he has a great platform and it is inherently socialist, but not Marxist.. more Capitalist Socialist. I think he still believes in the American dream and wants to revive it while making sure to take care of Americans in the mean time. Great men realize that to be a great nation you have to care about the health and well being of your people.

If I dont vote for Clark, Ill vote for Kucinich. But, my main concern is getting this asshole and his fear mongers out of the whitehouse. As for Kucinich, I like his Peace Team alot more then Im liking Clarks new Civilian Corps which sounds like a lighter version of the Draft.

I really see this form of socialism arising from the exclusion and devaluation of the american worker. When the capitalist system begins to systematicly exclude large blocks of the populus then we see "New Deal" type democratic platforms. My grandparents benefited directly from FDR's policies when capitalistic options were nil. With the rise of corporate influence and it's monopolism of capitalism which is taking place IMHO it may be time to level the field a bit,Kucinich seems to have a well thought out plan to achieve this goal.I will accept some socialism in exchange for less corporate influence in government.
BTW I am a conservative, capitalistic, constitutionalist but I am not made of stone so I am open to ideas of all sorts.
