I don't trust anyone currently campaigning from the two wings of the establishment. If there was a god in heaven, he'd drop a meteor on Washington DC, while the president and vice president and their cabinet were all at a joint session of congress.

THAT'S why I'm still agnostic.

I think he's genuinely concerned with trying to change the country for the better, and I like some of what he had said in debates, but he may be too close to a socialist.

He may be the candidate that most resembles my progressive values, but I am supporting Howard Dean. Dennis Kucinich just isn't a good candidate for President. He doesn't look like a leader and he doesn't sound like a leader. Also, his ideas may be good-intentioned, but not realistic. He wants to cut the defense budget drastically and actually wants to form a Department of Peace in the cabinet.

All this about "Oh he doesn't have a chance" and "Oh he doesn't look like a leader" is pure media BS, IMO. People only say that because they heard someone else say it and it feels right to jump on the bandwagon because it's true, not as many people know about him as they do Dean, Kerry or Clark.
He has a chance if people are made aware of his presence and platform.
His ideas are so realistic it's almost shocking.
I've never heard a candidate make so much sense.

I agree that he's a good candidate. But the reason his ideas are unrealistic is because they're much further to the left than the American public is.

Not a bad thing, but not realitic either.

I disagree. I can't think of anywhere I heard someone else say this about him, because the media doesn't really talk about Dennis Kucinich. I came to this conclusion on my own. Like I said, my progressive ideals are closer to his than any other candidate's, but I still think Dean, Kerry, Clark or Edwards would all (a), probably be better leaders and thus better presidents and (b) (the most important thing) would actually have a good chance at beating Bush. Kucinich just couldn't win a national election. I agree with cutting the Pentagon budget but it's important that we realize that Bush's issue is going to be national security, and his ad-campaign will pound into mercy anyone showing any sign of "weakness" on defense.

Also, Kucinich needs to acquaint himself with the structure of opportunity in the United States. Lowly House Reps don't become President... it might as well be officially required that you have been a Senator, a Governor, the VP, or a General in the past.

exactly. this is why ive moved to support kerry. bush can attack dean too easily, painting him as some irresponsible left winger who thinks he can create peace simply by being pacific. it would be much harder to attack a veteran on such an issue when bush isnt even one himself (although he might dress like one). clark would be even harder to attack, but he's fucking lame, just barely decided he was a democrat instead of a republican. plus there's all those bad rumors about why he was let out of his post in NATO.

however, if kerry's already going to win, i will vote for kucinich, just so my progressive views are more represented. (not that any vote is tie-breaking of course, but i would feel guilty throwing away a vote if the worse of two evils wins)

It would be easier to attack Dean, but I think Dean should be able to pull it off, especially with Clark as his running mate.  I like Dean better than Kerry because he opposed the irresponsible Iraq war from the beginning, he's tough, and he excites people.  I think more new voters will go out in support for Dean than they would Kerry.

And about Clark, I say welcome to the good side, buddy.

I wouldn't worry too much about throwing my vote away. The only ones who I would hate to see win the nomination are Joe Lieberman, the quasi-Republican, and Dick Gephardt, who already dropped out. Well, there's also Al Sharpton and Carol Moseley-Braun, but it's not like they stand a chance in Hell of winning.
