Salvinorin is orally active because it isn't an amine compound so it isn't oxidized by the MAO enzymes. So an MAOI won't potentiate it directly. But there could be other synergies.

So basically salvia is orally active, but not as active as the smoke.  And maoi's will not potentiate it because its not an amine compound...

I chewed a quid of salvia on a saturday morning once...it was soo bitter and nasty i had to spit it out after 20 minutes. I felt only the slightes of buzzes, but i don't think i was supposed to be swallowing my saliva so i got sick....i haven't tried sinse... :tongue:

I have not yet had success with it, either. However, there was a good point brought to my attention. Comparing it to the same feeling or mind phase as smoking pot is totally useless. It is a completely different state of being. That said, I may have to try another time just to see.... :tongue:

Well I tried Salvia twice once smoking it regular leaf and last night with the tincture and nothing I was very disappointed, but my wife did the tincture same as me and had the trip of her life.
She had no idea what salvia was or what type of images of effects to get.
She told me she was traveling inside a plant and felt a presence next to her talking guiding her, later they sent here to a carnival well she was having the best time, me noting :frown:.
I am going to try it again tonight for what she told me is completely different than shrooms or any other thing out there.
Wish me good luck I really want to experience ds.
Do any of you grow it in a cold climate? what?s the best strategy?, I live upstate NY.

I think Blackout described it very similar to how I experienced Salvia.

The pull to the left, the drooling... Also it does this weird thing to my eyes, and my mouth usually gapes open in awe. Last time I did it I got really sweaty.

I will not try Salvia again unless I am out in the wilderness, far from the madness of modern culture.

Well I tried Salvia again last night (tincture form) and finally I got a trip out of it :smile: :smile:.
Thou I will consider it a low to moderate one, I was very pleased with it and definitely I want to experiment more with it.
It is completely different from any thing else that I had tried.
The experience was very odd and strange took me a "wile" to realize I was tripping kinda sneaked on to me, I was sitting In my lazy boy and got up to lay on the floor, That hole movement stretched like a movie film were I could see and feel each frame of that movement, like I could feel each frame in time (very weird) also I felt the music changing the fabric of space around parts of my body.
As per visuals none, what I was seeing was like in a dream.

I'll admit that the feeling of knowing I'm not supposed to exist is the only time I can remember feeling true horror  :smirk:

I haven't had any Salvia in at least six months, and I'm not sure when, if ever, I'll try it again. It wasn't too much...but what I saw sticks with me long after the experience.

Salvia is not a toy.

Oh my God! I felt that pure horror when I was in a state of suspended thought on a high dose of DXM.

I have talked to a lot of people who have taken drugs and this is the first time I have ever been able to relate to someone so completely!

I felt like God was looking at me wondering what the hell I was doing here.

I felt like I had just been caught existing. Like when I was younger, at a party drinking and my friend's parents walked in.

I just moved back into my room after doing a complete makeover and i'm ready to purify the atmosphere... I went into my local hills and picked some sacred white sage...one leaf offa each plant cuz its not so abundant in this season.

the stuff is amazing...we have about 3or 4 kinds growing naturally in our hills and its frigging beautiful.

one kind has buttons which look like little buds...sticky too... put out little flowers which are white or purple ( i saw a plant that was half white and half purple...was beautiful)

they say that medicinal plants purify the atmosphere even if you just sit around them and breathe the air

i beleive it

Salvia is pure madness...it can be recreational in mild doses but a full trip is scary...

Last time I did it like 2 months ago I took two bong rips of home made 10x extract. I felt very strong waves of energy slapping me on the waist, and I began hearing annoying voices in unisson...they were saying ?You took the substance? or something similar to do that. That was about 20 seconds after taking the last hit. Then I discovered from where those voices wee coming from. Thousands of small difform entities were like coming really fast towards me and they hit me. But after that another entity took me on her back and I felt like I was being pulled out the vortex I entered...The trip beyong this point was gentle with cool melodies playing and colorful cevs.

It was really violent and since this time I havent tried it again, Im scared.
