It's the circle of life. No matter what you do, something has died to allow you to be where you are now. You're a result of millions of years of evolutionary success, which only happens because so much death has taken place. I don't really see how eating meat is any different than eating veggies, both are just collections of cells that are at some point living. Stop thinking about death as something inherently negative and recognize that it's a necessary part of life and without it nothing living on earth would be here today.

That being said, fuck your friends being judgmental. Do what feels right for you, if that's staying veg, do it. As long as your body is getting the nutrients you need the route you take to get the nutrients doesn't matter. Have you ever done a diet analysis? It'll tell you if what you're eating is actually adequate, and if it is and you feel good you should do whatever makes you happy.

I don't know about you but I think she was being facetious.  Also, bacon is what makes life worth living.  Without it most people would just lie down and die.  Rightly so.  What would be the point, anymore?

Ooops I didn't watch the video so. :smilingpuppy:

And yeah, totally with you on the bacon thing. I don't eat much meat at all and in my youth I was often borderline vegetarian just because most meat is icky IMO but I could never live without bacon. :drooling:

I'd love to see a true vegan who didn't have to supplement vitamins/nutrients to stay healthy. Kinda hard to buy into veganism when I can't even get my daily nutrients without eating eggs or other sources of B vitamins.

I was vegetarian until I was 15 years old and tried bacon. My whole family's hindu so it was kind of a big deal at the time.

Glad I started eating meat, never been healthier. I get sick way less now, and I'm much more active with all the extra energy I didn't have the first half of my life though. I'm o+ bloodtype though, I know red meat is very beneficial for the iron my body requires or something like that.

Fun fact: meat is the best source of iron because the iron that you get from meat is heme iron, the same type of iron that runs through your blood and allows exchange of oxygen molecules. When you consume plant sources of iron your absorption levels are wayyy lower because the iron is non-heme iron because plants don't have blood and they don't need to use heme to help transport oxygen.

Why would you take a supplement made in a factory by some corporation when there are fresh things in nature that already give you everything your body needs to stay healthy?

That's what I don't get.

To me, most vegans and vegetarians do it as some sort of fashion statement.

Earthlings is actually a pretty good documentary. I'm pretty sure it hasn't converted anyone though, it's pretty much made by vegans for vegans. It would be total cirklejerkness, if not for the fact of how completely unpleasant the whole thing is to watch.
