I haven't been keeping track of the other conversations in this thread but if anyone's been owned it wasn't me.

like I said guys, gun prohibition will not work. it will create a violent black market and make it easier for criminals to kill ("oh now the nation is disarmed!"). and even if you could magically get rid of guns, people would use knives.

oh really? come on dude.

hahahahah how can you be so ignorant. a drug user of all people should know that making something illegal doesn't make it go away, it just puts it in the hands of criminals and creates a black market. there will be more violence and deaths if gun control is put in place. the only people that wont have guns will be the ones who obey the law! the criminals wont give a fuck if the guns are illegal are not! why can't people get this through their fucking heads.

and if there was a way to make all guns magically dissapear then it wouldn't make a damn difference. people killed eachother before there were guns!

ok, so you're saying I should surrender my rights that protect me from illegal searches and seizures, that some government agency will put me at greater risk of being victimized by criminals seeking my legally owned guns

Where did I say that?

right here, you're setting up the police state in the factories and
informing the public I have a gun... you want to make me a target, how long
before it's just like countried like japan where the public no longer has
any privacy and the police are searching the homes of gun owners to monitor
guns within private residences

High taxes on gun/ammo sales which would be used to fund groups which monitor and control gun production/distribution with the aim of making the general public aware of where guns come from for who and what reasons.

I'm saying you should be limited in what type of and how many guns/bullets you can buy or posess at a given time.

why, because of your paranoia and fear?

Quote:
More important to me is that those who produce weapons on an industrial scale should adknowledge the problems they cause and take a hit in their profits in order for people to better understand and prevent illegal gun use rather than give all their money to the NRA.

the manufacturer isnt the root of the problem, the criminal is, 270 million+
firearms in this country that have never been used to commit an sort of
crime, you're making this quite clear that this is about your Uberliberal
Obamunist agenda, you dont like the idea of companies making profits, you
dont like the idea of people having jobs because when you take away the
profits of a company it closes and people are out of work an end up on
welfare, but that's clearly what you want

so now the arabs are out to get you but the pro gun advocates say otherwise,
why are arabs even an issue? xenophobic much? maybe I want guns to protect
myself from gun grabbing liberals that will strip me of my guns and then the
rest of my rights such as the 4th amendment that you mentioned stripping me
of earlier... or maybe I need them because where I live there's bears,
cougars, bobcats, coyotes, rattle snakes and other critters in addition to a
recent issue regarding rabid foxes and coyotes or maybe I just want to shoot
some paper and aluminum and it's not of your business what I do as long as
I'm not doing it to the general public... if you want to give up your
rights, feel free to do so but dont try and take mine

I was just using the Arabs as an example of a group of people that has been purported to be out to get the American people, a reason given why Americans need guns.  If you think that you can have whatever reason for whatever you want because this is America dammit, fine, but you're living in a fantasy.  We never have and never will live in a totally free society, there is no such thing.

wow... so other than in the discussion between you and myself, where have
arabs even been mentioned as a reason for these arms? please show me, search
the whole shroomery if you need to
it;s clearly your fantasy since
you're the one dragging arabs into this shit

Quote:
Your interpretation of a law is just that, your interpretation.  If more people decide that they don't want you to have an AR15 and you become violent or secretly hoard illegal weapons because of this, you will become an illegal gun owner.

I dont interpret the law, it's clearly written on both the state and federal
level and if there's a ban on AR-15s then I'm still a legal gun owner and if
the cops start knocking on doors to confiscate all the 'assault weapons' it
will spark a revolt and all of those people that have hoarded and cached
guns and ammunition all over the country will retrieve them for the sole
purpose of fighting. how will your delicate sensibilities like that?

what in your view do you think a ban on 'assault weapons' really is? it doest remove the ones out there, the millions that are currently being sold each year all it does is outlaw a few features and make it look a little dumber but only for guns going into production, not for the existing weapons

california still has an 'assault weapons ban' and this is the AR variant
that is legal for sale in california

this is the california legal variant of the AK-47

so really... what changed? still scared?

you should be because this is the proof that your lawmakers are retards
which is why they want to push for these sorts of things, now tell me, how
many trillions will it cost to monitor my ammunition?  can you see why this
wont work either even if it's done in a manner that you describe, through
taxes on arms and ammo

Just look at mexico...its illegal to own guns yet everyone has one not only that but the murder rate is ridiculous even with banning weapons for those thinking that banning semi autos will reduce crime rates get real.

70% of the guns found at mexican crime scenes have US origin.  Mexico is a great example of why we need to regulate the US gun market.  Like in our own country, many guns are being diverted for criminal use.  We reap what we sow.
