This thread would make a really really good day time movie. 

A extreme interenet nerd playing a online game married to a woman for 10 years on the game, never meeting, then she tells him she is dyeing in real life.  he uses his extreme interenet hacker skills to track down his wife in real life, finds out his wife is not really dyeing at all but is a 39 year old married man with children!

He becomes enraged and makes the long journey to his "wifes" house.  Breaks in, catches the man alone, attacks him and ties him up.  The mans wife and kids later come home that night ater the kids soccer game. They come inside and find their beloved dad/husband tied up to a chair.  Then a hairy 300 pound man wearing nothing but a lion skin thong busts out of a door holding a pistol screaming,  "THAT MAN WAS MY WIFE FOR 10 YEARS!!! THAT MAN WAS MY WIFE FOR 10 YEARS!!!"  then shoots and kills all of them

If it were me, I'd leave it in the game, man.  I'm sure she has people on the other side to help her through.

Just be the best pixelated husband that you can be and make those last months in-game count.

But if you have to, I'm there is some way to get her information (maybe a pass by the rules considering the situation, shit just link to this post with your next OOC message).

Wow thanks for sharing the link to Second Skin. I live in Ft. Wayne and it was a trip to watch a movie about gamers around here. I have been a hardcore gamer for about 10 years now. I know some gamer circles around here and we all only use our in game names when we chill lol. Pots heads the lot of them.

It was nice of her to let me know so I wasn't left wondering.

My character never truly got to say goodbye.

I stayed logged in and had my phone synched to message me if any text strings matching her name / items logged in.

I'm a bit depressed and my character did a <verb kill>.

Pretty shitty the way her life had to end, how our characters had to end --- in the sense of the reality we were both living in.

I feel like fuck. I'll post/summarize the letter her son sent me later. It's really touching.

Just got through this post and am sorry to hear about your friends passing.

It sounds like this is probably what she wanted though she knew you cared about her by the sounds of it. It
might have been better this way to not have gone and seen her, this way it keeps what you guys shared intact.
Be happy you were able to give her a good friendship throughout her life and up to the very end as im sure you
helped her as she helped you.
