by the time i eventually returned to earth i saw that you had responded.

I have done this thread before, but seems we have a new crop of members who keep missing the point, so I will recap.

Atheists kill for revenge, lust, power, money, land.

Theists kill for revenge, lust, power, money, land and beliefs about God.

Anyone with basic math skills can easily determine the more dangerous group. X+1 reasons > X reasons, therefore more likely to occur. Wiggle anyway you like. This is fact.

Here's some basic math:

Worst genocides of the 20th century

Mao Tse Tung: 50-78,000,000 - Atheist.

Josef Stalin: 23,000,000 - Atheist.

Adolf Hitler: 12,000,000 - lolwut?

Hideki Tojo: 5,000,000 Pure Land Buddhism (hippy atheists)

Uh huh. Did those listed kill for a non-belief in God or for one of other reasons that I listed in a separate thread?

The top 3 killed jews and christians without mercy. I guess that doesn't count, because jews and christians are genocidal maniacs right?

Stalin and Mao killed in the name of eradicating religion and promoting a state authority where God is illegal.

They were particularly fierce towards christians, and singled them out for unusual torture and detainment.

So they did not kill for a non-belief, but for power. How is that relevant?

They killed in a direct attempt to eradicate belief entirely, and to violently promote the concept of non belief.

How is that irrelevant?

Sometimes. Sometimes not.

Sometimes merely for belief such as Diploid's oft-mentioned abortion doctor killers. And of course, suicide bombers gain no power - in this life.

But this is a double standard.
I can say the same with atheists - sometimes they kill for power. sometimes non-religion is the excuse

Adolf hitler "believed" the jews needed to be exterminated like vermin. Mao "believed" he should kill all the christians.  Religion doesn't cause blood shed, crazy people do. These were very crazy, delusional people.

Terrorism is certainly an attempt to strong arm power. Terrorism is a well established war tactic that has been used throughout history.

How many docotors have been killed by atheists for NOT performing an abortion?

How many witches were killed by atheists for practicing dark arts or mere herbal treatments?

Magic mushrooms were initially made illegal by Franciscans for being an affront to the God that created them. Now list the substances made illegal by atheists as an affornt to their non-beliefs.

Do you have a link for that quote?

Suicide attack - Muslim religious motivation
Quote:
Recent research on the rationale of suicide bombing has identified both religious and sociopolitical motivations.

According to a report compiled by the Chicago Project on Suicide Terrorism, 224 of 300 suicide terror attacks from 1980 to 2003 involved Islamist groups or took place in Muslim-majority lands. Another tabulation found a 4.5 fold increase in suicide bombings in the two years following Papes study and that the majority of these bombers were motivated by the ideology of Islamist martyrdom

It seems that a great deal of suicide bombings are religiously motivated.

It's one thing to simply enjoy a style of life that one enjoys, but it's another thing altogether to refer to another person's choice as "wrong" or to rationalize their behavior as being pathological or resulting from some sort of inadequacy or failing so as to create a sense of superiority or separation as yet another projection of a personal fear or control issue.

How many people have murdered, raped, committed school shootings and robbed people because they didn't have anything to believe in?

The numbers game is pointless unless you can whip out real stats comparing murders done by the religious and nonreligious over the span of human history

If belief had any restraining power then America, as a self-declared Christian nation, would not be the world's largest arms dealer and the most bellicose nation on earth.

Take an educated guess. Are there more or less theists in prison than nontheists as compared to the surrounding region?
