I agree 100% that working for yourself is the way to go if you can manage it. I sell things on Ebay occasionally for side money and it is more rewarding than my regular job, but it is not enough to live off of. I'm married so the dynamic is different, I have to be responsible for more than myself alone. What is important to me is that any job I do I must do well, to the best of my ability. That makes even the most difficult, dreary job personally rewarding. I think this quote from T.S. Eliot is instructive;
