A thought about Watson - Jeopardy champion, and God

So humans have created much greater than themselves intellectually: Deep Blue (chess), Blue Gene (gene sequencer), Snowie (backgammon) and now - Watson.
We have created machines that are stronger, faster, more accurate, and will last longer than a human lifespan.
So if we can create greater than we are, then God must also be able to create greater than himself; therefore he is way punier than we are.
Think about it.

If God created something greater than himself then God could then become greater than his creation thus going into an infinite loop. Since he knew how he created the being, as you said.

Trebek: This omniscient, omnipresent being has remained at the forefront of philosophical and theological thought and discussion since the earliest written records.
Watson: What is God?
Trebek: Yes Watson, what is God?

But maybe he's not biologically designed to attain our greatness.

What I meant by infinite loop is.. God creates 1st greater being God becomes greater than 1st being God creates 2nd greater being God becomes greater than 2nd being.. and so on..
Maybe I shouldn't have said loop?

Are we talkin like the monotheistic, there's-a-little-man-up-in-the-heavens-in-a-robe-controlling-the-universe-kind-of-god? Cuz that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Aren't all these machines just a tool that makes humans even better at something specific? They aren't really intellectually superior. They are like helmet and pads for a football player... no real use or function unless we put it there.
Not that I fully believe in a 'God,' but we could possibly be a tool in order to help god do something better than god could have before. So yes in that sense we might be better than god at whatever specific function he created us for. And then we create tools to help us, which in turn helps god and then our tools could create tools and so forth.

Who says watson is smarter?
I guess it depends on how you define intelligence, if you say intelligence is remebering facts, an encyclopedia is smarter than us all. Watson is just a search engine with sentence structure analysis, the intelligence comes from us.
Machines are capable of performing tasks we design them to do. Would it make sense to use your fist to push in a nail? Hammers perform a task otherwise impossible. That is all computers are, tools for executing thought, "wheels for our mind".
I don't think the relationship between man and machine is comparable to man and god. That's like comparing a paintbrush to a painting.

Your trivialization means nothing at all and demonstrates an amazing lack of comprehension. Watson is the culmination of thousands of years of human innovation.

Deep blue wins. Pundits claim "Deep Blue is just a glorified brute force search engine, but if a machine could win at Jeopardy..."
Watson wins. Pundits claim "Watson is just a search engine on steroids, but if only a machine could..."

God? There's no evidence for a god. A computer would never make such an error in logic. Computer wins.
