I don't think love is ever quite "free", there are circumstances and consequences, and it is for the person/people involved to decided which circumstances and consequences they are willing to participate in.

I have personally experienced varying relationship dynamics, with men and women, casual situations, with people I have known, and strangers. Serious long term situations.

I currently enjoy a serious relationship with my girlfriend.

It is not about settling down and having a family, or rebelling against this and practicing promiscuous sexual behaviour...It is about finding out what you personally want and are comfortable with.

There is nothing wrong with either end of the spectrum, if everyone involved is on the same page.

This is where is gets tricky.

Unless you chose no interaction, you will have to interact with another persons wants and needs at some point.
