btw, I certainly recognize that people have probably managed to live with much greater pain/burdens that I have (probably more than I can imagine). I know that I'm hardly unique in having to deal with constant pain. Many have attained, (note: I try to avoid the term "achieved" - achieving enlightment is a misnomer, and I've probably spelt it wrong in any case ) states of mind where they can live with a great deal of pain. My struggles probably seem monumentally trivial in comparision. But it hurts and I try and I do the best that I can.

one last thought before I exceed my thought quota for the day here's another trap that's easy to fall into while meditating and being "on the path" so to speak. It's the "Oh I'm sooo Spiritual that I'm indistructable" idea. It's all too easy to think that one is beyond emotions, feelings and suffering... "after all I've been meditating for 10 years and I'm Spritual Damn it !" But to mediate is to accept and face what is, anything else is denial. I could sit down and say "NO I FEEL GREAT !" over and over and try desperately to belive this... and yes I have tried this (when one is desperate enough one will try anything), but inevitably I've noticed that very quickly this method can lead to even greater angst. Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps I just need to keep saying positive things and "I'll be cured from all pain... forever !", I'm willing to be open to that possibility - that meditation might not be the way. In order to seek a truthful path one must first consider that everything one "knows" might be wrong. But something about meditation seems right to me, and it gave me great peace in the past (but perhaps I'm just stubborn and wrong and it's all a terrible tragedy). And so... I face my current situation... I'm a "Spiritual Depressive" or more accurately I'm a person who could be considered "Spiritual" who is currently extreemly Depressed, Anxious and Traumatised by a very bad shroom trip. This... is what is...this is my starting point, in this present moment...

And then there's the fear of being "inconsistant" with what one said in the past... and we all know we can't have that why I'd have to go back and rewrite all the shroomery boards and mirror sites... erase all trace of what I said... MUST be right... ALL THE TIME ! ... for anything else would be to admit weakness...to permit CHANGE... doh ! passed that thought quota for the day

Some of my thoughts on meditation are that you go into a kind of Revere. For those who have played AD&D or for those who still are playing, you remember Elves have the ability to go into Revere, where they in essence sleep but are still "awake" , and they reflect back upon what has happened that day or week before or whenever. By doing so allows you to analyze your past so you dont make the same mistakes twice among other things and or contemplate the future depending on whats on your mind. By doing so you can make the wiser choice if a decision needs made or a action that needs to be taken, when thinking with a clearer mind you can better rationalize things.
