MI finds 9-8-09

So here are some mushrooms I found at a local park today that has a horse staging area and trails. Also I couple I found while driving around.
It has been raining for the past two days after a week of sun.

Also do you guys ever see mushrooms when you close your eyes after a day of hunting or is it just me, it is driving me nuts. LOL. This has happened to me three times now.


1.
These I found in the field of the horse area scattered everywhere. hundreds of them. the closest tree was a big oak.
the seemed to have a light bluish tint over the white of the base.Also seem to have darker spores, will do a print if needed. The stalks are twisted.

Found these in same spot

Lots of these too

these were around the corner near a pine.





5.
these where at the start of a horse trail from the field. my camera battery died so this is the only pic I have. I did get some on my iphone if needed, but the cameras sucks on it. I did put some in a bag so I can take more if needed.

I found these in the mulch at a shopping center under a small tree.




7.
I found this one in the grass in an industrial park.




8.
I found these in the grass under trees in front of a nice housing development. It was raining hard and they were leaking purple black.

8. The shaggy mane (Coprinus comatus)looks good.  I'm looking into the others (for fun) I'm quite new at this... oh so fun and addictive

7. looks like coprinus (sp.- different) too.
6. wish I could see the gills... the outer bands on the cap are suggestive... what area of the country are you in?
1. looks a lot like pan. foe.

here is more from #1, I just pulled the caps off and am printing now.
they would not print just buy laying them down like #6 did. But it looks really dark so far.

So here are more from the #6 the ones I found in the mulch in the parking lot. I am printing now but so far just laying it on the paper and pulling the caps of I see the spore print is black. Check out my finger just from pulling them apart.

#1 is panaeolus cinculus....those r poo subbs :look exactly like the ones ive been findin:thumbup:nice haul,your ready for :rocket:

So does anyone have a clue about #6, the ones I found in the mulch?
I can't believe how solid they look now after out of the rain and in the paper bag for a while. The print is super black.

#6 also appears to be Panaeolus cinctulus.  Typically on mulch I would expect to see Psathyrella, but I don't think thats what they are.  Check to see if they are really fragile, or tougher, like the ones from the horse field.

Perhaps the mulch had some manure added.

this is not the first time i've seen Pan. cinctulus from mulch. manure may well be a possibility, and in which case it was likely added to the soil under the mulch.

this is where I found them on the mulch. I stopped here to run across the street to those pine trees in the back ground, I thought I saw an Amanita under it while I was driving, turned out it was a couple Amanita virosa (destroying angles). on the way back to the car I saw the mushrooms on the mulch in front of the car.

#1 from the field seems brown. Plus larva in half of them, Sucks.



#6 from the mulch in parking lot, print is black and no larva. Keeping them.

Thanks, man they look a lot a like other than the spore print. What a pain. The Pan foe even had a little bluing on the mycelia.

It is weird I have not found anything active in all the horse dung that is around. The only thing I find in it is Bolbitius vitellinus. Maybe tomorrow, it was raining all day yesterday and last night and the sun is out today and tomorrow.

Thats is what puzzles me, but they printed dark brown.
I work with color for I living (color correction for TV/film) so I know I am not color blind, LOL.

I did read in Stamets Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World it does say
"A form similar to P. foenisecii which occasionally bruises bluish near the base of the stem. has been collected in grassy areas in coastal California. This mushroom may either be an active variety of P. foenisecii or is a new species."

But I am in Michigan.

So I went back to that shopping center today to look around some more.

1.
I found these in a mulch bed about a 100' away from the Panaeolus cinctulus I found yesterday. 






2.
I found this one in the grass, the cap is about 1" wide and it was 2.5" tall. Was found alone with no other mushrooms in site.

and these in another mulch bed.
