forced dosing as a criminal punishment
    #10887664 -

Now any Australians (more so people from melbourne) would surely know about the MASSIVE increase of street violence occuring. young people, commonly fuelled with a legal, yet possibly one of the most dangerous drugs known to man, alcohol, go around beating the shit of random people, leaving them there to die.

this year, i think in melbourne alone, ive heard of at least half a dozen innocent people that have died as a result of this fucking dispicable crime. now years abd years ago, people in australia didnt even have fucking locks on the door. now people are fucking scared to go for a fucking walk. this never used to happen.

when these young males are charged, they get nothing but a fucking slap on the wrist, at most maybe a few months in prison or some shit. to me, that is a fucking insult to the victims.

that aside, i think that iv these people were dosed, (preferebly printed) these mindless fools would surely be shown the light. i would like to hear other peoples thoughts on this.

That's actually not a bad idea at all imo. Not to do so as torture, but it might change the way the view things and perhaps help em.

I'm of the mindset that no matter how bad something is that someone does, there's no point in seeking revenge, only preventing it from happening again. So if someone killed someone and was most likely to never do it again I don't think they should be punished. That doesn't mean people shouldn't make reparations, but jails are kinda pointless, or counter productive as I see it.

i would see where you think it would be beneficial, but just giving a dose would be way to simple:
1) it would freak out the average nonpsychedelic person that criminals would be given a 'recreational' drug as a punishment (cuz people want to see them punished not helped!).
2) just dosing seems a little bit simple, maybe using it in combination with therapy sessions in a closed environment (a tripjail so to say...)

I always thought a strong dose of reality (mushrooms) would be a great way to make people see the light....

Crimes like rape, and murder, mushrooms can break the hardest criminal.

How about ayahuasca! And some Iboga. Give them a whole bloody coarse of psychedelic therapy with the most powerful of them all!

I believe if we end up in a governmentless resoarce based economy (my dream!) that that should be what we do to harmful and hateful people.

well it is more likely to catch a person who's face is on video... but that's more of a prevention of the criminals not getting cought, than a prevention of the crime itself

Face piles
And piles
Of trials

It riles them to believe
That you perceive
The web they weave

Every single day i read this in the paper. It makes me a bit unpatriotic, i dont want to be seen as aussie if that means im seen as always drunk and violent . I've been saying for a long time that they need MUCH tougher laws on assualts etc.
I dont understand why people are so aggressive. Even in midweek social bball and shit. psychos.

Your idea is good. Thumbprint them, then let their huge ego's tear them apart.

Clockwork orange...rent it/check it out from the library.

Terrible idea.

I am a firm believe that ther is no inherent positive or negetive to psychedelics. Value neutral in my experience...like a hammer. You can build a house or bash your brains in. The choice is yours...or the criminal you just dosed's

psychedelics=compassionate, reflective and non-violent people is a gross simplification.

It appears that taking mescaline (peyote) encourages alcoholics to reform but I think this is due to an existing desire to change being increased rather than it being created.

Psychedelics don't always necessarily increase beneficial aspects of peoples personalities/behaviors though.  Consider that the Manson family took a lot of LSD.  Do you think that made them less violent?

Williamsii brought up exactly what I was going to: The Manson family.  Really, hallucinogens tend to bring out the true person inside and if that person is crazy and violent then that will more than likely be ingrained forever.  I have thought of this idea in the past as well, but I always end up thinking it's a terrible idea.

This might be kind of irrevelant but I was reading about how people who are violent when drunk usually have a gene called the MAOA gene and since Australia is full of descendents of criminals (who were probably violent) all of the kids most likely inherited this gene. Australia is fucked!

I don't think dosing them would change anything because I believe psychedelic drugs such as LSD have to be sought out by the individual and the individual probably has already seen a little bit of the light but when LSD is consumed then the individual is shown the sun.

I think this is a stupid idea personally.

Not only would it make the general public view psychedelics as being a punishment, I dont see how itd be anymore menacing of a penalty than jail time.

I also know of plenty of people that dose psychdelics and just see shit, laugh, trip out, and dont get the deep psychedelic experiences that most people on these boards get.

I dont see how this would be effective in changing people and making them see the error in their ways. It will if they want it to.

This is a terrible idea for the same reason this is

I'd honestly go as far as saying that giving psychedelics to people who are unprepared can literally be more damaging than molestation.

Y'all really underestimate the experience.
