You have no idea what its like TO BE a junkie.  I'm not trying to argue with you or anything like that, im sorry about what has happened to you.  But have you ever been throwing up blood and keep doing more heroin?  Have you spent your life savings on drugs?  You have seen it, i have lived it.

I don't even want to imagine what must be in that tar garbage. It's unheard of in this area. Around here it's real easy to get straight powder H, snortable/injectable, high quality, as low as $4 a piece.

You are fucked up in the head dude. Have you ever known someone addicted to hard drugs? That shit sucks. It's the worst fucking lifestyle ever. You must be really immature to think that.

Edit: I don't think anyone glamorizes that shit. I think immature people HEAR about artists using it and conflate the lifestyle in their minds with the art/cultural media that was produced.

Note: I am defining immature here as an inability to empathize with another human being, not just to feel their pain but understand the complexity or fullness of another's situation. If you can understand this about a junkie, you would never find their situation glamorous or tempting at all.

I agree with most of that post.

I think what people fail to realize is that many great minds and artists have been junkies and alcholics because they were fucked to begin with.

Junk is not responsible for their work, many great artists just have alot of problems and they solve them with drugs.

Being addicted to opiates sucks ass.

Like Cog_shift said you care more about getting high than eating, and one reason for that is if you dont get high....you can't fucking eat, you will puke up everything you put down.

If you use, use responsibly, dont shoot for a junkie status.

I used to use a while lot of opiates when i was in high school.  I grew up in the suburbs where there is nothing to do and empyty houses to stay in all day while parents were at work.  So we would pretty much party at my friends house when ever his mom left (a lot) and get fucking up.  Thats all there was to do:shrug:  Then opiates are great for the time period of like 1-9 where you lay on the couch all day until you wake up and go out and do the same thing.

I know what it's like to be a junkie. I know how strong addiction is.

I just think it's pretty pathetic to bring yourself to that level at all. PATHETIC.

And if you say you didn't know what you were getting yourself into then you weren't quite prepared for what you were doing.

"If you use, use responsibly, dont shoot for a junkie status."
My point exactly. Being a junkie is fucking terrible.

The very thought of going back to sticking needles in my arms..... Makes my hands tremble, makes me nauseous, and also makes me want to take a shit.  I have seen soooooo many of my friends come sooooooooo close to death, (not to mention the fact that I died at the Hospital and was brought back).  The "seduction" is partly the lifestyle in the beginning...... The girls, the parties, the sex, (sick, exotic, fantasy sex).  Then comes the addiction.  Seduction is over..... Now it's unrelenting pain in all aspects of your life.  I do mean ALL ASPECTS OF YOUR LIFE.

Sad to hear man! Glad you're doin' good!
Can't imagine poking myself with a needle, though I am not scared of them in any way.
When you see things before doing the drug, you get smart enough to not touch it. Most people hop into it not knowing exactly how addictive something is or saying "I won't get addicted". But you would. Alot of addiction runs in my family and even when I do shrooms I think: "Wow just this little high off these is addicting".
That also has kept me from touching anything other than them and weed of course, which I smoke at least 10 times a day.

Smoke snort and eat was the only ways i got high.  I never found a rig, nor neither wanted to spend the time to know how to use it, snorting it was just fine for me.  The only problem was tolerance.

LSD and Shrooms have Literally been my salvation.  I was stuck in my coke addiction for all of my 20's and the beginning part of my 30's.  Weed, shrooms and beer is all I do now.  I occasionally enjoy xanax.  So long as I stay the hell away from coke, I'm fine.  Growing up in South Texas and being 10 miles away from the Mexican border gave me access to VERY high quality and CHEAP coke.  When you have your dealer literally chiseling a half ounce of "Pearl" off the block at 180.00.  You can binge for days and destroy your life over a lengthy period.

Maybe I am immature... Reading the responses here makes me feel shallow for feeling the way I do (some of you have been through a lot of shit, evidently). On another note, I also feel strangely drawn to other dangerous (but somehow more acceptable) activities, like rockclimbing and hanggliding. There's something so engrossing about taking everything you are to the absolute limit, and in an admittedly perverted way I feel the same way about hard drugs and the social scene associated with that. I don't blame those of you with more experience than I for considering me naive or even sick... Some of the posts echo sentiments similar to my own, however. Maybe it's symptomatic of postmodern nihilism to wilfully embrace such a meaningless lifestyle.

Believe it or not, I am a rather spiritual person... I suffered extreme depression and addiction for many years, and maybe now I'm becoming conscious of the psychological constructs that formerly lead me astray.

Opiates scare me.  I've never done any of them besides prescription types, and I can't even fathom the "real" stuff.
It's been 2 months since my month long prescription usage, and I still catch myself thinking things like "maybe if I get my wisdom teeth out I can get another scrip..."

If I had an endless supply of opium (dream job = poppy farmer) and plenty of fiberous food and stool softeners I would get high every day for sure, and would absolutely love it.

I actually dream of doing this when I retire, and being able to grow my own poppies, refine the opium, or even isolate the morphine and make some heroin for special occasions...MmMmmMmMM

*i have to edit just to say fuck yes that would be an awesome lifestyle....sitting out on the beach in my little home in the pacific islands, sipping on some homegrown kava, smokin some homegrown weed, smokin some opium without a care in the world.

The world and your life is entirely dependent on how you perceive it in my opinion, so why not feel good all the time and appreciate life instead of facing the cruel realities of our corrupt species?

only problem is supply

The only reason people see white light is because it's been scientifically proven that's the image your brain shows your eyes while it is dying.
Not some fucking bullshit religion story.

I bet it's similar to the white light you see on high dose DXM too.  That was the whitest color I've ever seen
