Personally no, but I do find that I would much rather travel the world doing whatever rather than staying in one place. I don't know why you'd want to be a mess for the majority of your life.

I tend to agree (and that's what I'm preparing to do actually), but somehow the idea of it has a deeply seductive grasp on me... A personal flaw, I guess.

Its fun/amazing while it lasts, then when you have 6 bucks to your name and fiending for more, it pretty much ruins all other aspects of your life.  Actually your life.  A consistant hook up to heroin can easily take you down within a month of two.

I personally love it when I would run out of opiates and would freak out, get depressed and puke for 6+ days or until I got them again.

Another fun thing about the life style is seeing friends die or go to jail, and losing alot of money.

Being a junkie is great.

Maybe I didn't express myself right, it's not like I consciously -want- to live like that, but it's simply... seductive, for lack of a better word... Like how you might be seduced by a torrid temptress that you know is wrong for you, but through some aesthetic complex you are pulled in. No one feels this? It seems to be glamorized by a small subset of pop culture (i.e Andy Warhol / Velvet Underground in the 60s), in any case.

Yes, it has a way of luring people in. Especially those going through a hard time in their lives, or those with low confidence/self esteem. It can provide comfort in a time when pretty much nothing else possibly could.

It is fun untill you find spike and can't get high on 100 dollars a day anymore. The high is incredible but the price to play is too high.
I played that game. Weekend warriors are rare and set up for ruin.

I'd stick to pharms if you are going to play with the like. street H is just that.. Street tar.  Unless you live in the east and then good luck

You don't understand the mind of a junkie my friend...

Getting money and getting more heroin is the only thing that matters.  Food goes out the window, friends go too, family.  Nothing else matters except getting high again.  They rationalize their desicions too.  And they are afraid of getting dope sickness so they rationalize the situation and think they HAVE to get high again.  Junkies think about getting high more than you think about food and sex combined.

I don't understand the mind? Really? My sister was an opiate addict for 8 years. Her boyfriend died in my arms soon after shooting up oxycontin. Don't give me that, I know the junkie mind better than you do.

Oh yeah and on top of what I already said, 4 of my uncles were junkies and all of them committed suicide.

Maybe I will, my best friend was a crack/opiate addict for a while too, and he always thought that I was the only one who understood what it was like.

Edit: Cognitive_Shift, if you weren't talking to me, sorry! But at least people can read this and know what being a junkie can put people through.
