Shamanic pilgrimage

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but since it's about a spiritual journey I figured P&S would be best.
My friends and I are looking into the possibility of organising a pilgrimage across Peru, with a local shaman acting as our guide for traditional ayahuasca and san pedro rituals along the way. I stumbled across this organisation which offers tailor made journeys which seem like exactly what we're looking for, but they only accept groups of 10 or more. Unfortunately the trip would cost somewhere in the region of £3000 and I don't know that many people who can afford to stump up that kind of dough...
Out of interest, would anyone here be interested in joining us on this kind of journey with fellow shroomery members some time in late 2009 - early 2010?
nb. the itinerary in the link is only an example and we would be able to tailor it to suit our specific desires once we had enough people to make the trip feasible.

I just buy it on the internet and then take a trip into the mountains. Cost, about twenty to forty bucks including gas. If I'm looking for something exotic I go to Burning Man.

Yes, but the point of the journey is not the drugs... I'm not that dumb. If I just wanted good drugs, I'd be doing pharmahuasca, which is a darn sight easier to organise and a whole load cheaper too.
The point of the journey is the traditional shamanic rituals with a peruvian shaman, while visiting a variety of the most important historical sites of a civilization that embraced DMT as the basis of their entire religion. Surely that is worth more than a couple of baggies from the net and a tank full of petrol?

Maybe to you it's worth it. I would rather go fly fishing in New Zealand.

Look at that Talking Stick website. I read of some recent events too. Every year there also is the Shamanic conference in Amsterdam or someplace. Lots of stuff always happening.

I ceased to be interested at the point I realized I did not need them experience my own neo shamanic reality.

If I had the money I would be with you 1000%. My friends are way more into "getting high" than I am. I prefer psychedelics to open my mind to new experiences and let thoughts flow as opposed to creating thoughts to process. My DREAM would be to go to an Amazonian or native American shaman and go through the experience with him, or a trained psychedelic therapist.

I guess it would be cool to hang out with a bunch of people tripping in some ancient ruins or high in the Peruvian mountains, but to consider it some sort of "serious" spiritual journey would rob it of it's charm. I would just consider it a party. However, those types of things are way too expensive.

That is only because you are not attuned to the energy vortex there.

If we could bring Pink Floyd into the Mayan ruins...maybe Chichen Itza, for a concert wouldn't that be awesome? I'll sit on top of the Temple of Quetzalcoatl pyramid for the show.

You are of course absolutely right...my use of the word pilgrimage and the other sacred language I attach to the whole thing is a tad over the top. Never the less, even if in reality it's only scratching the surface of the true shamanic experience, psychology is a huge part of any mystical experience, and acting as though it's sacred makes the religious aspect of it feel all the more real.
Is it frivolous? Sure, but a bit of frivolity never hurt anyone!
