They are not physically but sometimes mentally addicting. People use em more than they should and this definetly takes the magic out the mush. Some use em correct (in my view) and have em every so often but it is still all an individual view. Some hate em, some love em, some think they are just OK.

Actuaully they are non-addictiive and non-dependent.

During my divorce in 1982, I had to take a court ordered psychiatric evaluation and a doctor wrote in his report that I was hallucinogenic mushroom dependant.

Well Dr. Andrew Weil wrote a letter for me for the court regarding this matter. Here it is psoted below for al to see.

I sated "Sometimes" meaning in some cases.
I could not take any for years and i probably aint going to, I think it`s just nice to trip once in awhile.  :grin:

Its hard to keep up a shroom addiction....don't know why but I don't know anyone thats tripped on shrooms over excessively for years...It is possible to do it for months at a time though :cool:

You have to answer that for yourself. If it causes problems, it's bad. You may find that your trips become less 'magical' after a while if you do them often. I say at that point it's better to slow down than to let them become boring. Hard core fiending on mushrooms is pretty impossible due to tolerance, but I think if you are taking mushrooms too much it will become apparent to you.

but it is definitely not an "addiction" like some people can develop with:
alcohol
tobacco
narcotics
"downers" (tranquilizers & sedatives)
ghb
"uppers" (amphetamines, etc.)
etc...

Once a month is ideal, IMO. At the very least it will eliminate any tolerance from your last dose.

Hello, all. This is my first time posting. This mushroom-addiction thing seems quite implausible to me. I have only tripped once on shrooms, and from what I experienced, it would be much too intense for anyone to want to do on a regular basis. The high that one gets from shrooms seems to be more profound. It would be almost wrong to disrespect the power of the shroom by abusing it on a fairly frequent basis. I enjoyed the first half of my experience, but then had a bad trip halfway through. In my opinion, it would be very difficult to be on a constant mushroom high, I'd almost certainly go insane. :wink:

Dude you're asking if they're addictive, and right after that you ask so if you're taking them all the time is that bad?

If you're taking them all the time you're addicted to some aspect of their effects.

For a while I was addicted to the results of a mushroom trip - addicted to the days of *seemingly* perfect clarity that I experienced after a trip. So instead of just continuing to do it all the time, I learned how to drag that *seemingly* perfect clarity through weeks and months, and it seems that in time I won't "feel the need" to shroom any longer.

There's no doubt about it - if you're taking them all the time; you're addicted. Be careful - don't stay out in hyperspace too much - we need you down HERE as well.

Uh no... not neccesarily at all. What if someone was shoving them down your throat each time, against your will? Would you still be addicted? Has it occured to you that the shroom trip is incredible? Maybe that's why people like doing it. But like others have said, try to keep your experienced well spaced out, so you drain your tolerance. It's not just tolerance though, doing shrooms all the time will make them lose some of their appeal, and it will never be as good as doing them 1-2+ months apart.

when i trip, for about 2 weeks, i feel no desire to trip, and i feel like i'd be wasting a trip if i did. then a week or 2 after that, i feel fine to trip. i just wait until i have an urge that's more than chasing a buzz or some crap like that.
