Alrighty zen! The Shroomery's first annual 'Our Brain is God' project has finally come to a close and it has made me feel all sorts of ways. I got totally effin' spun of this art project, ya'lls.

Today the following will be done: All current brain requests and resends will be drawn and shipped out.

Done today if I feel like, if not then tomorrow: A reflective essay about the whole project. I mean there has to be a system to my (in?)sanity ,right?

SO: Does anyone have questions about the project that the would like to ask me?

I'm going to be at work all day, so I'm going to start the listed objectives in the afternoon.

Thank you ALL for participating, once again, and although 97 brains technically weren't sent out, it felt like a million loves were so I'm still stoked, choked and maybe teary eyed for the final number.

NOW: Waiting for cab

Later: Send brains, write essay

Later later: Pick up where I left off, and that is producing more artwork

This was really an amazing effort on your part, man. There hasn't been any kind of big, community-centered activity on here in a long time, and it's nice to see you spreading good vibes and little bits of your heart and soul though your art.

The Shroomery needs more things like this to happen, these remarkable little things which while being as insignificant as a few crayon drawings mean all the world to those who can appreciate it.

I might not have been able to get a picture of my brain up, but it hangs over my desk as a constant reminder of the message you've sent, which I'm sure has led many of us to some very insightful thinking sessions.

Excellent project.

This project was a trip in of itself, and I mean that. It was an artistic adventure in variety, color relationship, gestalts, and many other adjectives quite similar to many of the words used to talk about psychedelics. It was certainly fun, interesting and at times unpredictable.


EFFECTS LIST for the Our Brain Is God Project, as correlating to Erowid's "Magic Mushroom Effects"
Please see Description below.


POSITIVE
mood lift, euphoria
(All the exchange of good vibes!)

giggling, laughter, giddiness
All of the jokes, and insanity made me laugh, and always have an awesome face rockin'. Rockin'. Awesome.)

creative, philosophical or deep thinking : ideas flow more easily ( there was a progression with the brains; with each one I seemed to build upon the strength of the last and Gray matter flowed like blue water)


boring tasks or entertainment can become more interesting or funny (I play with crayons.)


sensation of insight
(I got to meet people a little bit more closely, beyond the message boards. Little things like this I consider insightful because it is a very real experience of connecting outside my vehicle that is my human body. Voltron unite. I sent out a voltron brain.)

life changing spiritual experience
(Art is spiritual to me. That is another article, though. Can't say it has changed my life like they probably mean, but I feel more centered!)

intense feelings of wonder
(I'm sure all of you at least wondered what your brain would look like, some more intensely than others)

paradoxical feeling of a normalcy and deep alteration of psyche (Yup. Like stated in the original post, I'm kind of crazy. Crazy Happy. Strange Nice Man, Donald Drake, pleased to meet you)


may interrupt cluster sequences in those suffering from cluster headaches [ Cluster Headache Treatment ]
(Good stress reliever after a days work is as close to this one I can say about)

NEUTRAL
feeling more emotionally sensitive
(I already am, so this really didn't phase me, niggas.)

general change in consciousness (as with many psycho actives) (Brains on my mind 24/7. That sentence will only make sense in this context ever, I hope.)

time perception alteration [ Wittmann 2006 ]
(I couldn't;t really tel you an accurate measurement of the time I spent, however it was just enough to bring awe and wonder)

time seems to pass more slowly (minutes seem to take hours) (Well this is reversed for me.)


lights seem brighter, sensitivity to light
(Well I have that naturally. I hate bright, bright lights)

starring and rainbow patterns around pinpoint lights
(I was tripping when drawing some, but you'll never know which.)

increased detection of motion in peripheral vision
(I had to be alert when I was drawing and the bowl was being passed to me. Inspiration is often joined up with a bic lighter.)

closed-eye visuals (common at medium or stronger dose)
(Thinking about what to draw. I usually don't go with the flow with "color art"--most of it is planned in my head. CEV'S for the win. Who's buying it?)

sleepiness, lethargy
(Analogy failed here, sorry kids.)

pupil dilation
(Nope. Insert lame joke here(if you can think of one)(just for the hell of it, another parenthesis sentence))

sensation of energy or buzzing in the nervous system/peripheral limbs
(Moving dem' crayons is all I got)

memories come to life
Well this will happen within the following weeks)

NEGATIVE

NO NEGATIVE EFFECTS

Well that is kind of how I really felt about the Project. It was a mini-trip complete with visuals of all sorts, humor, and sentiment.

I really love creating things and sharing them with people. It is a sort of passion of mine. Ideas, jokes, drawings, anything tangible really. And it is also Art: that which trys to share the intangible(sometimes) is something I am trying to share. Good will is something that I enjoy hitting people with like a lightning bolt.

I also did it for The Shroomery. This place has been nothing but helpful to me in the year that I have been here, I would have been an asshole for not doing something. I ACTUALLY learn the ins and outs of drug use due to those who kindly walked the road before me. I am in 100% favor of this site. I feel as is this site is on the cusp of something much bigger; We are all essentially dancing on the nose of a sleeping beast. Dance harder, I say. Hard but elegant, of course.

So those are the main reasons why I did it, off the top of my head. I know I got the idea originally because I kept seeing "Send me some vibes" threads popping up everywhere, and I wanted to send vibes for real; well at least not using a post.

Feel free to ask questions about the project, as I will be glad to answer something I didn't think of.

To those who never got a brain, I will draw a replacement, but it will be after the 26th. I gotta be in NYC.

To all those to have participated, thank you very much for everything. I really, really enjoyed the vibrations that totally vamped my hyper-thoughts, psychonauts

Well if I were able to dose my brains I wouldn't because it is illegal to dose both an organic brain and an abstract brain drawn on paper that certainly suggests an organic brain tripping out which is illegal.

However, I'd be up for a 2008 version of the Merry Prankstas. Infectious fun.

We have to figure out how to send micrograms of basically anything to go through powwer lines.:strokebeard::crazy2:

A drug active in 1 trillionth of a gram.:eek:

My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end.

I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW!
