Don't you think he's taking it too far?
How can one make such erroneous assumptions about something that huge and unknown?
How can one make assumptions even about humanity like that?
To each his own I say.
In my opinion, running away from being manipulated straight in the arms of another dogma is not really a change. :smirk:
And those who make a religion based on that are no different from those who want to start a new society. Meaning that they both end up in the same place where they left...

See, that's the thing.

I am not advocating or suggesting joining any particular group....just advocating that one studies...and stops believing what they hear in the "mainstream media".

And that people stop thinking they've fully researched something simply by Googling it. Which sadly, some people do think.

I'd rather see a world of Scientologist beliefs than a world of Big Pharma, personally.

Well I guess it's up to us as individuals to oppose the forces of culture within ourselves. Or you can choose to go along completely.

Ultimately it may be of little cosmic importance, but what we believe surely is of importance personally.

It's hard to disagree with the kind of empty rhetoric Hubbard uses in that video.

I mean, sure, what a great idea! Let's not allow some kind of wisdom to be twisted around and used against humanity! I Agree with that!

So what's he talking about, really?

Well, it's just a short excerpt from a full length lecture...and one or two individuals on this board...(see prior post) are terrified about people studying Scientology and use "covert hostility" to try to make it seem like something it isn't. And if you don't know what Hubbard is talking about, maybe you guys need to look up any words there that you don't understand...

Fuck L. Ron Hubbard, I just don't understand who would listen to this blabbering pile of outdated shit.

He's suckering people. He's saying don't trust anyone and then telling them to trust him.

Oh, you KNEW Hubbard? Cool, man.

Scientology is actually very current and applies to us all...

Indeed, true philosophy invents nothing; it merely establishes and describes what is...and that is all Scientology does.

Some people can confront what is...while others, such as yourself, clearly can't...

Oh, and you KNOW me?

Read again what Icelander just mentioned, and think about it a bit.

I have done my research into Scientology and it makes me sick. Don't go his way, go your own way. Get over it!

Well at least you're contributing to a discussion of ideas in a productive, meaningful way.

Do you have anything of substance to bring to this discussion?

Well, keep guessing and you'll eventually get it right.

Scientology is about what IS and humans are on a gradient scale of Being-Not-Being...so, the rest is for you to figure out...

And Googling something doesn't constitute fully researching a subject.

Any fool with a few pennies and a computer can create a website and say whatever he/she wants...but if you don't believe me, browse the internet for a few hours...

True philosophy invents nothing; it merely establishes and describes what is.

Sorry to be harsh...

But coming from someone who actually read "The Invaders Plan" over a decade ago... I think I have some room to talk.

And if you want to continue to embarass yourself...

Lets continue to talk about Hubbard.

Lets talk about his classic protagonist and antagonist characters...

Lets talk about Mr. Jettero Heller.

What can you tell me about him...?

I enjoy South Park...but what does that have to do with the data contained in the subject of Scientology?
