NewScientist study demonstrates OBEs all in the mind
    #7327169 -

An article on NewScientist.com came out today, which apparently proves that Out of Body experiences are all in the mind.

Here is the link: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn12531-outofbody-experiences-are-all-in-the-mind.html

Quote:
By deliberately scrambling a person's visual and tactile senses, it is now possible to give them an "out-of-body" experience.

The video that accompanies the article should be watched, it is very interesting.

So, now that an Out of Body experience can be reproduced in a studio, does this mean that it is one less experience we can treat as mystical or cosmic?

I think it is important not to confuse cause and correlation.

There is now known a part of the brain that triggers OBEs. When it's stimulated with a mild electric current, it causes a full blown OBE on demand.

Still, it's all imagined. The subject can never pass a test to verify that they're actually leaving their body; identifying an object that would only be visible from above the bed, for example.

Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.
