unlocking keys to the mind, alien messages

I would like to hear from anyone who has had strange unexplainable (rationally) things happen to them after getting invested in an unusual belief system or tried to delve deep in their subconscious, while sober..

For instance, after reading alot about 2012 and aliens trying to contact humans through the media, I had a strange thing happen. I was at a friend's house, sitting in his living room listening to the radio while he was off in another room and a vaccuum commercial comes on. At the end of the commercial there is this jingle: "Humans! Everyone must get ready.. love is the only wayyy!"

I heard it clear as day and I didn't know what to do with that. It was very very odd. I saw a post recently on The Pub where a guy saw on his cereal box the message "once you raise your consciousness, you can't lower it."

How powerful are our beliefs? How easy is to access other realities in our minds?

Powerful enough that they are the bulding blocks of our interpretations of what is "real".

I tried to find that commercial everywhere, I couldn't find it ever again

when i got into the alien trip heavily, my sleeping hours became interesting. almost nightly i would unintetionally astral project, as if it were forced. then id hear alien voices telling me to wake up. or id get sleep paralysis, and somtimes see aliens in my room in that paralysed state. it was a strange time in my life. and i believe there were other factors involved as well, too much mushrooms and ganja, and i was working the night shift, so my sleeping habits were all messed up.
