its good to lightheartedly enjoy synchronicity without fretting upon it.

....I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow, to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human......

The things you are describing are not synchronicities as the word is normally understood.

Quote:
Synchronicity - n - Coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related, conceived in Jungian theory as an explanatory principle on the same order as causality.

I.e. a synchronicity is an outward occurrence subjectively recognized as acausally linked to an internal thought which occurs at the same point in time.

"avoided doing bad things"? "bad synchronicities"? You make it sound as though God might punish you through synchronicities. I think synchronicity, if such a thing exists, is amoral. Just open up and go with the flow.

--------------------
“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

no, at that time it was scary as fuck. all i could tihnk of was, what did it mean?

does it mean that if i avoided doing bad things, then synchronicities that happen won't result in "bad" synchronicities?

or should i have just chimed in at that point in the car saying "hey! i did that exact thing to her that you're talking about man"

Scary as fuck doesn't have to happen again though. It doesn't matter what you should have done or shouldn't have done, you made the only decision you felt you should make.

Now maybe the decision was a split one, you felt you should have made another one, but a conflicting drive kept you from it, but if that is the case then you felt that that drive was more correct than the other one.
From here a large amount of mental unrest and dis-ease branches out like a tree from the single trunk of potential action. Event comes, stimulus is delivered, what is the response?

But be assured you made it, and its made, and now you can better prepare yourself for smoother waters in the future by simply, well. Simply. Simply it doesn't matter. Maybe you can go back in and speak to them of these things right now that you hadn't before.

(I've had things like that happen.)

but do you want to know, does synchronicity mean things? IMO yes absolutely,, but the interpretation, well, it can be flawed.

okay, if the guy did know about what i did, him saying what he said in the car that day would be a blatant attempt at trying to fuck with me, he would be trying to make me think about what i did

but he didn't know about what i did.

so after knowing that, you wouldn't call that a coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related?

the universe can teach you things this way. Maybe you take a $20 bill but then a cartoon comes on where the character does the same thing and feels bad so gives the money to charity/the police.

I thought someone stole my jacket because people used to be cruel to me in middle school. When I went home to watch TV I saw the episode of Doug (pictured in my avatar) thinks that someone steals his bike, and so he chases after them and acuses them of all these horrible things, but it turns out he was completely wrong.

No one stole my jacket, I dropped it and someone turned it in to the office.

Exactly the same themes as this episode, I misplaced my highlighter, saw that someone had "it" and this someone was someone that was mean to me, and was quite sure it was stolen so when he wasn't looking I took it and sat on it then hid it in my binder when he didn't see.

Several people took my side, saying that yes that was "my" highlighter, and his friends took his side saying they were there when he bought it.

Well, it wasn't my highlighter.

You may find yourself in a huge crowd of people discussing a dream you had where you ran through a wall and immediately after saying wall a stranger very far away begins speaking about walls. You may find these things everywhere, the universe can teach that way.

what you need to learn is to loosen up and not think people are fucking with you though, IMO. It's all good.

I thought a bunch of people were going to come kill me when I went to a concert because I was smoking too much pot.

we don't know what you should do

honestly i didn't really understand your first post maybe i should read it again, but

some people do know what you are doing and might talk to you that way to provoke a reaction should they happen to be enlightened. i don't think a gangster would be one of them.

umm

the way this is all set up seems that random strangers could just sort of feel like spontaneously saying things so that you will hear what you need to hear from someone, but again i don't really understand your situation and i will re read it.

oh

well if her brother is messed up unless you are madly in love with her FROM THE HEART and she fills your soul with passion, i'd just stay away fro her and you'll be fine.

i don't think he knows anything, because it would be really weird for his sister to tell him about her romantic life and

you did stop when she said no right?

look i mean, just hold out for your reflection

YOUR REFLECTION

someone that mirrors your soul to you

and have a relationship with them, sex with people who get involved in all that bullshit macho drama aren't worth it IMO.

and look man, don't hang out with those kinds of people. don't hang out with shady drug users. there ARE very sane, very very peaceful, full of love people that use drugs, even non-psychedelics if thats what you're into

its better not to have friends than to go to some shady party just "because" just to get high or drunk, or just to have something to do

they aren't worth your time of day, ever man.

best of peace to you.
when you are with them, realize they are just people, they think and feel and have a soul just like you do, and look at them beyond their armor, and try and view them with equanimity and love.

jung categorizes synchronicity into the following

1. the coincidence of a psychic state in the observer with a simultaneous, objective, external event that corresponds to the psychic state or content, where there is no evidence of a causal (cause and effect) connection between the psychic state and the external event, and where, considering the psychic relativity of space and time, such a connection is not even conceivable.
2. corresponding event at a distant location, out of the observer's field of perception
3. the coincidence of a psychic state with a corresponding, not yet existent future event that is distant in time and can likewise only be verified afterward

this is from his book synchronicity, an acausal connecting principle. i borrowed it and actually browsed through it.. he has some good points, but his shit on astrology i didn't bother to read. just some points that stood out. thanks again for the replies.

a couple years ago wduring a bad manic episode(filled with delusions of granduer/paranoia) synchronicities happened very often (almost 24/7).

i would constantly think about them and then fantasize more about how this was all proof that my delusions were true(it was almost like putting myself in the center of the world...like that dude said who the movie "A Beautiful Mind" is about).

I totally feel like I have written something significant on this before.
but that may just be deja vu
both deja vu and synchronicity relate to associative mind processing things with a shifted timebase.

In my view the whole thing about mental states relates to time base in that a very wakeful timebase (i.e. not dreaming, inebrieted, emotional or yogically immersed) separates conscious moments into very small discrete sections of time, and that the time flows quickly one way from the past through the present. into the yet to be.

when either dreaming, emotional, inebrieted or in some absorptive yogic state, the mental time base shifts due to longer moment duration, and overlapping. (consciousness becomes more layered, resonant, reverberant)

since the arrival of new moments can still be very fast, the longer lasting moments of experience stack up.
In a stacked consciousness, a person can be much more resonant,
A person can reside more or less deeply in the stack, but is actually existing at several simultaneous moments of experience.

when stacked, synchronicity can be conjoured easily as so much is naturally happenning together, picking from layered motifs in moments and memories can result together to build up epiphanies - joyous states and feed back into absorption - natural or yogic.

but also one can become startled by an occurrance in the conscious field, and then catch up to the moment it is happenning in, which may be several seconds deeper in the stack (i.e the person loses the deeper resonance of the stacked effect and wakes up from the stacking state). "oh my god! deja vu! I have experienced exactly this before..." (but the connections are difficult to place as if one were dreaming a moment ago...)

other things to be aware of that are common from conscious moment stacking are, hearing of voices and meeting imagined people (from stacked autonomous memory or self) alienation and depersonalization with multiple selfs or thought trains actively present at once in the head.

these phenomena from time base altered states are quite astonishing/compelling when they happen.

This is probably the single most intelligent and insightful post I've seen on this topic. Nice one red!
