Re: Love is the answer? [Re: Psychoactive1984]

I am sure I could come up with some of my own....  :ohwell:
For me, it is more hating something   I don't like....

Like, I hate people's shitty driving skills near me in my "pack of traffic".....
If they aren't driving the way I am driving, then they aren't driving "right"....
There is no real passion involved with my hate towards the actions,
I just don't enjoy people the take big risks while endangering OTHER people's lives,
while in a car, with lots of traffic, and at a high rate of speed....

To use your example, a group that finds its' cohesion in hatred will usually engage in violent actions.

Unlike a group that oh say, finds its cohesion in the love of Christ, wherein no violence whatsoever will result from that binding...

If their cohesion was truly founded upon a love of Christ, they would not be motivated to destroy other people.  But you already knew that.

Isn't loving fostering a sense of something to create, cannot hatred achieve the same result? Creating is the same as destroying it all depends on the direction.

Examples, please. If my hatred of all posters with numbers in their nicknames leads me to destroy you, how have I fostered a sense of something to create?

Quote:
I can give an example if you want but i need to see where your comming from. We're basically playing with duality yin/yang conceptualizations but achieving the same result albeit fostering a different sentiment thats ultimately the same if properly directed. We're the same being we're just putting on different makss to achieve the same result. Trying not to get too abstract here, but until i can see your position i cannot get altogether concrete.

I already posted my position:

If you desire the effect of distance, disconnection, violence, fear, destruction and alienation--hatred will be effective.

If you desire the effect of connection, cooperation, pleasure, joy, creativity and fellowship--love will be effective.

Quote:
Some quick examples are republicans, democrats, communists. Each share a doctrine and wish to absolve another antithetical to their stated position how its fostered depends on your vantage point. I'm simply stating that the line is a thin one and can be viewed through both sides.

So Republicans, Democrats & Communists are all examples of groups which find their cohesion in hatred?? How so? Are you calling any form of disagreement or difference hate?

A coalition of the willing to destroy those with numbers in their nicks   I dunno, depends on how much you hate them.

Yes to a degree. What does a democrat hate? What does a republican hate? What does a communist hate? This all depends on the form of what it is and how its directed their are variances in all these subgroups, such as are they all idealogically bound how roughly has the meme infected the indivual, which time period, which region? Nazism around Hitler's time would provide for a better realistic example of clear hatred. Not to say that their aren't clear hatreds in the republicans and the democrats (idealogical hatred in respects to position), and the communists (idealogical hatred in respects to economy), but as groups their probably insufficient for our purposes for pure hate on a massive scale. i've known some republicans that absolutely with all their heart hated the democrats position and vice versa; the liberals versus the conservatives; the group struggle is more intense the more involved and infected they become, and they become increasingly confrontational, its the same in most groups. Nothing is absolute of course, you do have your pacifists who refuse this behavior, I'm sure if the environment were correct and the conditions were as well, that could be changed.

Love might be the final answer, the only thing that makes sense, but I really dont get the whole understanding of love being some kind of pathway in life. It seems to me that all you can strive for is to become more aware, and eventually you might indirectly realize that love is the only thing that makes sense. I think all direct references of love are kind of pointless in this sense.

Your drunk?

Is it the only thing that makes sense though? Hate has played a pivotal role in our history. It may make the best sense to you and I but as a species  I feel we're doomed to make all the same transactions of our past.

Idk man I'm just kind of going on this assumption. I was more referring to these damn hippies trying to spread the word of love. You cant teach love!

"You cant teach love!"
Maybe one can teach love by expressing his feelings about it, acting them out ?
I mean, teaching to feel the love, maybe by stating an example

I think there were some wise teachers of it in history, like the Rabbi Jesu, Gandhi, or Buddha for example.
