have you ever been in love?
    #2361085 - 02/20/04 10:36 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

how many people can actually say that the've been in love? im 22 years old, and i've been in love twice, both were different kinds of love though...the first girl i loved was one i knew through out high-school, she was also one of my closest friends. the other was when i moved to california, she was a girl i knew for only 6 months, but things got very heavy the first week i moved in my place, and she moved in with me within the month. then i moved away.

what is love? it cant be classified. there surely are many different forms of love that we manifest in different ways. one thing is certain, no matter whom we may be loving or whom is loving us back, it is a great, powerful, enriching, uplifting feeling, i'd say the best human experience.

You know what's cool about love? You never know when you're going to fall in it. And falling in love has got to be the best feeling in the whole wide world.

I'll believe in love when I see it

then when its gone I will question whether it ever existed in the first place...

falling in love, and a love for family and friends are different, BUT they are both love.

family love is wierd... like I feel connected to all these people but I don't really like most of them. There are very few family members who I truly love as people.

As far as romantic love, well I havent really decided if thats an illusion or not.

I know what you mean. With my first girlfriend, I thought I was in love, but then when it ended, after a while I came to realize it wasn't really love. Then later on I fell in love for real, and now, almost a year and a half since we broke up, and more than a year since I last heard from her, I still love her. So yes, it does exist.

I can definitely say that at least a couple of girls could still govern my heart if they chose to. Their throne awaits but they have long since abdicated. But is that love? Is it a geuinely positive influence? A deep spirtual thing? Or is it just another emotion - some evolutionarily obsolete chemical process in my brain influencing me to feel, think, and behave that way?

Why is it that we see some emotions as bad and necesary to overcome, like anger? Because they have a negative effect. So can this thing we call love. I've seen people ruin their lives for love.

I mean, I dont think its healthy to love someone who is bad for you. But I've been known to let certain females walk all over me, because of this feeling I call love. And its wierd, because the objective area of my brain is totally detatched and fully aware of whats going on, that I'm getting used... I've been slowly training myself to not let this happen anymore but Its a tricky balancing act that often leaves me stumbling into the dark abyss of elitism, mysogyny, meaningless physical relationships, and emotional isolationism.

Oh well, I guess what I'm sayin is... rock and a hard place.

but I guess its all about finding the right person. has to happen eventrually, right?

*sigh*

I've been wondering who stole my "pity party" violin.

Give it back.
