Re: Love is the answer? [Re: Psychoactive1984]

While hatred and love might seem equally "effective," it would depend upon what sort of "effect" you are looking for.

If you desire the effect of distance, disconnection, violence, fear, destruction and alienation--hatred will be effective.

If you desire the effect of connection, cooperation, pleasure, joy, creativity and fellowship--love will be effective.

Passion is merely motivation, drive, the blend of intent and will. If you have a passion for destruction, you will be motivated towards hatred. If you have a passion for connection and creativity, you will be motivated towards love.

Look it up, it most certainly has to do with passion.

Case in point I'm merely saying they can be utilized in spite of their differences for the same result. Once again most if not all of us will say one clearly is better then the other (most if not all of us will lean towards love) but objectively both are capable of satisfying the same goal.

Love and hatred are attachment though. Your attaching emotion unto action. Psychological attachment google it, its indicative to love and various other emotions. Love does have various forms but your refusing to provide the analogy in how it develops... its not some spontaneous created feeling, it has a recipe.

While a lack of love can play a role in ignorance... it doesn't by definition thereof. Your further complicating a simple problem. Take ignorance into consideration without your desire to make emotion inclusive? Can we have ignorance without love? :yesnod: Hate can play a role in ignorance so much as love can as a substitution of this problem however its innane to the end result as it needn't be inclusive from the get go. We are all born ignorant no amount of actual love or hate is going to edecute us, it is knowledge that does this Although hate/love may be capable of disseminating this knowledge to us, they aren't involved in the process directly in becoming less ignorant. Its like saying clouds get your shirt wet when its the rain  its involved with the overall process, but it isn't the end result of the process. I agree with you but this comes down to semantics.

What goal would that be?   Are you referring to motivation or impetus?  These are not goals.

The end result. I agree motivation and impetus aree not goals but methods for achieving them.

What end result? I see actions based on love as having VERY different end results from those based on hatred.

In feelings perhaps but not in regards to actions but then again this presupposes a certain amount of force is applied in a certain matter to help dictate events. This presupposes you plan properly really, so it won't always work.

As for example we'll use a rather general concept of cohesion as people and the motivator being love/hate and passion being the degree of it, and the stipulation made on your part if you want an example of it (just popped into my head and seemed easiest to illustrate).

I disagree.  It makes a big difference in regards to actions.  Hatred is not the inverse of love, and it does not share a neutral motivating impulse.

To use your example, a group that finds its' cohesion in hatred will usually engage in violent actions.  In fact, every violent group I can think of has found cohesion in hatred.

I think that you are taking hatred far too neutrally--hatred wishes to destroy the hated object, not preserve the loved object.  This orientation cannot possibly result in the same actions as those based on love.

Can you offer a specific example of a group based upon hatred, and how they have used that hatred in a constructive manner?

Isn't loving fostering a sense of something to create, cannot hatred achieve the same result? Creating is the same as destroying it all depends on the direction. I can give an example if you want but i need to see where your comming from. We're basically playing with duality yin/yang conceptualizations but achieving the same result albeit fostering a different sentiment thats ultimately the same if properly directed. We're the same being we're just putting on different makss to achieve the same result. Trying not to get too abstract here, but until i can see your position i cannot get altogether concrete.

Some quick examples are republicans, democrats, communists. Each share a doctrine and wish to absolve another antithetical to their stated position how its fostered depends on your vantage point. I'm simply stating that the line is a thin one and can be viewed through both sides.

Whatever it is your involved in stay passionate and that will lead you through it.

Is passion something that one can actually plan for....?
Is it really a decided state to manifest and be in....?

I can't think of a way to make one's self feel passion, or plan for having passion for something/in something....    :ohwell:
Passion seems directly aligned with what gives one pleasure - in the mental sense/aspect....

Could one have a passion for hating....?    It doesn't really seem logical if I think that out, really....
I am more inclined to think that one could   have a passion for the effect that is perceived from what it is they inflict/direct the hatred (love) towards....
Whether with love or hate, when it is a cyclically fed loop of two (or more) individuals/(forces) feeding the passion,
the loop can escalate in pleasure, thus increasing the re-re-re-reinforced intensity level of the action<-->reaction loop of passion....

When the perceived (forethought and/or present thought) of mental pleasure fades,
the strength in passion suffers the consequences by declining and fading with it....
Passion is kinda~ like the  drunken character   state-of-being caused by being effected by that which is loved/hated....

Could one have a passion for being happy, thus making a cyclic loop of it's own passion/pleasure mix....?

I dunno~, it kinda~ makes sense....     :pirate:    :gethigh:

:strokebeard:

You can plan with passion i don't know about for passion unless you can work with what you/they find passionate. All depends on what we're working with.

I hate you with a passion. That expression comes to mind. So i do think we can hate with a passion though i'm not suggesting that we do it.
