And yet I've seen people use the Randi card in MR&P as well.

No one ever monitors that forum to spank them. Perhaps Diploid should moderate that forum as well? :smirk:

This is exactly what im talking about! Dont you see? Psychic phenomena really doesnt have anything to do with what im really trying to say right now. Im just using this concept to explain something bigger. So, challenge it all you want, i dont think anybodies even asserted that they have psychic ability though.

Also, its not like its a law of nature that these forums must be seperate. Its only because we tend to fall in to extremes by that these forums are seprate. Its human nature. I could sit around in the philosophy forum and continually type "how can you assert that if there is no proof of any existance?" to anything and everything anybody types without breaking any rules. Would that be productive? I think we should be more mature than that. If someone says they are psychic, if someone says they believe theres a god, whats the point in argument? Let it go if you disagree, instead of derailing the discussion. Everybody is stuck in their own spot on these sorts of things.

There are mods for that forum right? Then if they can't do the job they should be dumped.

I think it would be easy to moderate a combined philosophy and mysticism forum. I challenge you all give to me an instance or scenario.

Look at it this way. If you ignore any post you think is irrelevant then you can't be derailed.

If someone claims there's a God and he's going to send all the non-believers to hell then there is a good reason to debate it. Everything here is open to debate by anyone for any reason. I suggest you ignore the posts you don't think relevant and get on with it.

And the point in argument/debate is for fun and education. This forum is open to debate and argument and that's why we are here. I don't like a lot of it and think it's meaningless, but others must think it's valuable. Who is correct?

Yes, no doubt - this is P&S. Anything presented for discussion is subject to critical viewpoints and dissent. That's why this forum is here. There are other alternatives for different manners of discussion...

But there is no convincing a believer that there isnt a god, and he isnt going to convince us we are going to hell

Why would anyone argue over this?

Dont you think thats an extreme outlook?

Again, if i wanted, by this rule i could deny anything anyone says because there is no proof of reality. Over, and over, and over, and over.

Regarding that "extreme" outlook, feel free to peruse the forum rules and guidelines. I essentially quoted it in describing the purpose and intention of this forum. You propose a slippery slope fallacy when you refer to someone questioning every aspect of every statement over and over and over again. That is not the purpose and intention of the forum as outlined - that is not the spirit of the letter.

I was refering to what Icelander said:

So explain to me how asking someone to "prove it" which i previously described, is any different than denying the existance of reality? I could just as easily state either one with the same intention, which is in the spirit of this forum.
