Anything can become a deadly weapon.

You can go right into your kitchen and cook up a bomb with household chemicals. Right down to your local gas station and get the ingredients needed to make a molotov cocktail. So on and so forth...

Its amusing that these other nations are taking the opportunity to use a tragic event to make superior statements to America and its freedoms when they aren't capable of preventing the same occurences.

Yes. There really is no legitimate reason for people to own guns now at days. A gun is 22 times more likely to be used for unintentional shootings (4 times), a criminal assault or homicide (7 times), or attempted/complete suicide (11 times) than to be used for self-defense.
