edit: newbies, that's not our team number. We are 12679. I just meant we are in the top 100 folding teams.

I'm on the team and have a few under my belt. How do I get the snazzy little DNA strand under my Avator here on Shroomery?

Go to "Home", then to "Personal Information...", then scroll down to "Folding@home Username".

Enter your F@H username in there, click "update" and you're done.

In a general sense I guess you could say that. It's operated by Stanford, but the results are made freely available. Their work on protein folding and disease research has applications for all of humanity, not just the Shroomery. By forming a Shroomery team we're just trying to get more people interested in this worthy cause, and it also reflects positively on our community. I encourage you to read about their results for yourself and hopefully you'll decide to become a member of our team in the future.

Why does it always download a work unit that takes 416 days to complete? I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did the same thing.

Is there a setting to get smaller work units?

thanks. guess i'll have to complete the WU before my user shows up there & get my signature. is there an average rate about WU's completion? or does every new WU progress take totally different time in completing?

It can vary depending on the speed of your computer and also the work unit you're assigned. It may take anywhere from under a day to over a week. If you look in the Folding@home directory, there should be a log file which shows your current progress.

Wow, ive been a member for a while and never gave any attention to this...glad I had a slow day here at work. Now running on crazy fast servers here at my office and 3 new PC's. Should help out the work load a bit.

Sweet! Glad to have you on board. :smile: To get the helix under your name, you must have completed at least one work unit. Just go to your basic preferences and scroll down about half-way. There's a field for your Folding@home username.

According to Extreme Overclocking our team is finally on an upwards trajectory again. Thanks to all the participants and keep the results coming in!

I'm having some difficulties, have just started running this on my new machine again and i'll be contributing my efforts towards the shroomery team, However I can't get my helix :frown: i'm using the right team code because in the configuration panel when I click show team stats it displays the shroomery's team page. But when I enter my name into my profile it tells me it cant find me, i've already completed a work-unit and my name isn't on the team page or the faulty team number page. Whats up with that? Can someone please help me?

Here's my certificate to prove i've completed a unit so far.
