Welcome guys! You won't show up on the team until you submit your first work unit, which can take anywhere from a day to a week depending on the speed of your computer and the complexity of the data. If you're running the command-line version of the client, you can check its progress by opening the 'unitinfo.txt' file in the program directory. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for supporting this project and joining the Shroomery team!

Right when I turn it on my computer crashes, then when I try to reboot and it folding@home opens and crashes my comp again. I have to go into safe mode for it to stop.

To get the helix there's a field for your FAH username in basic preferences.

Although FAH uses all your computer's spare CPU cycles, it shouldn't have any performance impact on a modern preemptive multitasking OS like XP, Linux or OSX. The only thing that would affect your system is the amount of RAM the Folding client uses, typically 4 - 6 MB unless you specifically enable larger work units. It shouldn't have a noticeable impact on any modern PC. Check out these benchmarks which support that claim.

It depends on what kind of work unit you're crunching on, some take much longer than others (but return more points). You can open unitinfo.txt or FAHlog.txt to check on your progress. Once you submit a work-unit you should show up here within a couple hours, then the FAH username field here will work.

Man it's a sad day in Shroomery history, we're getting thoroughly and completely spanked by a team with 1/3 the CPUs. I'm not ready to admit defeat yet, but we're looking pretty damn beefless. Oh well... race to #1?
