The One Truth.

We are all connected in coincidence. Things happen to use that have true meaning, things that we like to do, things we like to think about, bring us together for this moment in time. We come together!

No matter what we are atheist, theist, there is only one truth out there and if we can't accept the truth, we will end up on different paths. Realize there is only one truth and find each other grasping for the moments time to accept it, to become it, to cherish it.

There is only one truth. How do we know this? How do we know there is only one truth? We are all human perceiving the same thing, we all came from the same origin. We are all one.

Truth is relative to the individual and in some ways culturally defined. Ones truth can change.

Along with personal truth, there is also truth of knowledge:

It's V-E-R-Y likely true that rain comes from condensation and not from crying Angles, and science has shown us the likely truth of this, but it might still be wrong.

That's why science is about the search for truth only, and not in any away about the actual truth, which is probably unknowable.

Knowledge is NOT truth. Knowledge can never be truth because it is always contaminated with lies and untruth. Now, the quest for knowledge can be a quest for truth, but knowledge will always be tainted with that which is not true. It is the nature of knowledge.

Well, I think the way the universe works, gravity for example, IS absolute truth. Truth exists. Knowing it is another matter.

Newton saw the universe and wrote down an approximation to absolute truth; his formulation of gravity. That working approximation, called "Newtonian Gravity", was a sufficiently-good approximation of absolute truth, which is called "however the the hell gravity really works", until Einstein gave us a much better approximation, called "Relativity".

Before Relativity, Newton's formulation could predict eclipses and the positions of the planets, but it fell flat explaining the ovserved precession of the orbit of the planet Mercury. As it happened, Einstein's approximation not only explained, but also REQUIRED the precession of Mercury for the Relativity approximation to be internally consistent.

Now we're finding other odd things in the realm of the very small for which "Quantum Mechanics", yet another approximation of the absolute truth, is being used as the best working guess.

And the process continues always getting closer to coming up with the absolute truth asymptote, which I think exists, but never actually reaching it.

Hue helped me become aware of this in another thread. I had convinced myself of something that contradicted my previously stated beliefs because it was convenient for defending a position I currently was invested in. :tongue:

I agree. We cannot know anything for certain. When seeking knowledge one should realize that it is not always the whole ball of wax...and what you have may be wrong. There is certain knowledge, but we cannot definitively divine it. As far as our understanding is concerned knowledge cannot be truth.

There is only one truth. Whether you believe it or not:
