Paranormal, Spirituality, meaning of life, UFO's, Aliens, etc.

I guess for most of my life I've been one of those people that takes the I believe side of things over the skeptics it-can't-be. However, in recent years I'm starting to wonder.

I don't really think my life has any real significance in the scheme of things. I don't really see people as being any different from other animals or plants on the planet. If I picked a flower or ran over a cat have they now gone to "heaven". I kind of doubt it.

My ears hear, my skin feels, my nose smells, my eyes see, my mouth tastes, and my brain thinks (I guess it can dream/see as well). Without my brain how would I "think" for example. The closest thing to a God to me is Chance.

I understand though thats its alot more comforting to imagine that we're going to exist forever in a paradise where of course noone we don't like will be since then how could it be bliss ! THey will all be in Hell.

It seems on UFO forums that theres at least a dozen people in "contact" with aliens on a regular basis which proves to me reality truely is subjective. I'm not sure where the ghosts are hiding on me this halloween I hope they are out there somewhere.

Anyone Out there have some first hand "paranormal experiences". Mine mostly seem to involve drugs so i'm not sure if they're valid or misprocessed brain happenings.

I really enjoy the way you write IFEELGOOD, it's enjoyable to read.

I personally think every persons life has signifigance in everything, just as every experience has influence on an individuals psyche. Sometimes the little things may not appear to be signifigant but they do affect many things on many many levels it can somtimes be hard to comprehend.

To me any experience is valid in terms of "real" to the individual. Although validity can mean many different things, perception is a big factor into this. Like you said...perhaps reality is subjective, and if reality is perception then it certainly is.

Most of my paranormal experiences have to do with energies telepathy precognition and astral projection. I used to have many out of body experiences and crazy dreams in which i felt certain I was talking with my loved ones (mainly my bf) like an exchange of information on another level of consciousness. Creating reality through thought and desire, very cool but also can be very scary.

What experiences have you had on drugs IFEELGOOD? Do you mind sharing?

One time with Magic Mushrooms I thought a tree was trying to communicate with me like I was seeing a vision of a tree as I was out in the woods.

With Ketamine on an occasion I heard audible hallucinations of cartoons and things from television that might mean alot more of what I can't consciously recall is all stored perfectly somewhere in my mind. More commonly I got alot of strange sensations that i'm sure alot of people would say are OOBE's. Once I experienced Rapid Eye movement with some level of awareness.

One time I was laying there I was hearing "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH" laughter getting louder and louder but then as it got closer I realized it was just a plane. An example of my brain misprocessing info.

With a box of airsickness Tablets I saw a couple beings of light
that looked very real and then vanished. Some people might say they saw ghosts but really they didn't look like anyone elses idea of a ghost as they didn't have any details really(you wouldn't say it had any hair eyes etc) they were just made out of light with the outline of being human shaped and were not see through.

Without any kind of altered mind substances:

I once in a public place saw a glass move by itself which also
was witnessed by two other people. No explanation. I wish I knew.

I had one shadow person / sleep paralysis experience which was scarey but never happened again.

Thats all I can think of now.

great post by the way, and I also enjoy the way you write.

I must say at first I read your post as completely agreeable without trying to question it, then I read Reverie's post and I realized that is what I think also. Sure alone we may not have any significance, but together we create what we are. Plus significance comes from things that have purpose and meaning, but we create our wishes and desires not vice versa, so to think of reality all we have to do is look within ourselves.

Interesting experiences IFEELGOOD.. What do you think about them? I've personally found the best way to experience those things is just to go with it like it was "real" or valid.
