Saltwater Fishin'

The other fishing thread is mostly about lakes and criks and streams and shit so i don't know what's going on there.

This one is exclusively for saltwater fishing, all sorts.

I'm generally an inshore guy, the flats and mangroves, specifically.
My boat's been deadzorz for a while, so it's mostly wading for me, which is still good.
Favorite fish to catch: Redfish (Red Drum)
pour manger: Hogfish, dee-rishus snapper

I don't fish the salt much at all, but I'm going to Costa in two weeks and plan on getting some done then.

mahi are fun on super light gear, when you get'em schooled it's like fish in a barrel

second to last time i went for AJs, my friend rob was pulling, probably a 40+ lber, and about fifteen twenty feet down a big fuck off shark took all but the head

Just once in my life I'd like to catch something bigger than me. Around here (LI Sound) we get blues and stripers and fluke and porgy. They're fun but they aint what I want. Fluke and stripers are edible and blues and stripers fight but it all aint no big deal. I want a 200lb something one day. Preferably with a bill.

I know I gotta go offshore for my dream but I think it's probably gonna have to be a trip off Mexico. Any big shit around here is rare indeed
