That was an exciting fucking game.  If the Saints didn't have so many penalties, the game wouldn't have bee nearly as close.  But the same goes for the Vikes turnovers.  These were two very well matched teams, and the Saints got the coin flip in OT and came out on top.

I said this a few days ago:
Quote:

no blowout by either team, it's going to be close, and probably come down to who has the ball last, or a bad call, or something like that

the vikes kinda got robbed by the refs and bullshit rules which favor offense.

Both teams had some bad calls on them.  I agree that the ref's were fucked in that game.  But the bad calls went against the Saints for most of that game until OT, there were a couple questionable calls that went in favor of the Saints.

Thats football for you though, and that's one reason why I hate people trying to call a game based on a teams stats, etc, because there is so much more that decides a game than just season statistics.  This game it was turnovers and penalties that decided the game.

BTW, I really gotta hand it to the Vikes and especially Favre.  That motherfucker got hit and hit and hit and HIT over and over, but he kept getting up, and kept throwing completions.  The Vikes had 6 turnovers, but they never gave up.

What a great game...

What amazes me is with that many turnovers it still went to OT.  We should have lost huge.

The Vikes got robbed by bullshit rules favoring offense?  They outgained the Saints by miles.  They just couldn't hold onto the ball.

Agreed.  It kinda sucks it comes down to a coin toss though.  I like the college system where each team gets the ball during overtime.

I was rooting for the vikings in that game, but team favorites aside, I'll bet the Saints actually have a better chance against the colts.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but if the Vikings won that coin flip, they probably would have marched down the field the same way the Saints did.

Again, I really have to give props to Favre and the Vikings, they pushed hard as fuck, and even with 5 or 6 turnovers or whatever, they still made this game hard.  Favre is a machine, no matter how many times or how hard he got hit, he got right back up and kept playing.  I actually kinda felt bad for him in that post-game press conference, he looked beat up, tired, and upset..

Oh well, I'm over it.

GEAUX SAINTS!!

Yeah he knew he messed up bad with that last throw. Longwell could have easily made it from where we were. But oh well, hope he comes back next year.

Favre would have thrown a beautiful spiral to Sharper at the 30.  Think of it this way.  Minnesota losing the toss spared them the ignominy of making yet another turnover.

Absolutely. And he and Payton are on the same page along with Brees. They are totally in sync like great organizations have to be in a competitive league like the NFL.

While other teams overpay for pricey prima donnas, Loomis and company are finding and developing overlooked talent.

oh, thought you were talking about this seasons draft pick.

was kind of wondering, because didnt we pick some kicker that we let go in the preseason for #6 or 7.

I think jenkins is going to really improve the secondary once he gets another year or two under his belt and keeps learning from guys like sharper and greer.
