You can catch sharks on the gulf side pretty easy. Mostly small ones, but still pretty fun. If you can find a point or something you don't need a boat.

At a pier near my house, they caught an 18 ft shark like a week ago, and that kind of occurence is somewhat common around here.  I caught a 4 ft blacktip the night i posted this thread.

we see cobia all over the place around here, i catch a lot of grouper, speckaled trout, flounder, snook, and tarpon, unless we're going shark fishing, then its mostly black tips, lemon sharks, threshers, and hammerheads.

That's awesome. I hope you catch one that big on that new reel.

I've been shark fishing both times I've been to FL. Biggest I've personally caught was a 7 ft hammerhead. I don't know if you're familiar with St. Joseph Bay, but that's where I've done my shark fishing.

I've got a penn open reel and a quantum open reel i use for jigging as well, and two huge cast nets, one for bait, one for bigger fish

mm black tip is some tasty shark

you should post up some pics next time you go out fishing. I am in Arizona so the fishing here is pretty shitty. There's a couple decent lakes, but nothing like ocean fishing.
