I wish I could quit you.

If you went up there from the late 70's through early 90's we might have met. I flew bush operations from Merrill field in everything from Cessna 170's through twin otters. My fav bush plane is still the Beaver, which is an excellent name for a bush plane. There's some awesome grayling fishing in the Eastern part of the state, near Tok. You can also get huge rainbow trout in the lakes of the northern Kenai penninsula, but they only allow float planes on two of them, or at least when I was there. RR

went kayak fishin' with the old man
said fuck the kayak and waded the grassflats right off fort de soto
caught some trout, ladyfish, cats
we didn't have any ice, so we gave the trout to some black dude that had the fryer set up for chicken for his family reunion if we waited we probably could have gotten some chicken and bbq

which is real nice!~
I love to go camping there in the summertime.
I think a bunch of us are going there sometime in August this year.

Well Salmon season is open in Elliot Bay... and my outboard boat motor is fucked up!~
I missed the first weekend... it's only open to fish on Fri, Sat and Sun. til Aug 20th.
It's some kind of carb problem... I tore it apart and tried cleaning it and put it back together... and its still acting up!~
RR is coming over today and we are going to mess with it again... I didn't pull the jets out of the carb when I cleaned it... because that sorta scared me to do. And it could be a float bowl problem. So we are going to pull the jets out and test the float bowl...today.
I found a used merc 15 hp outboard... that is only a few years old and real clean. For $800 which is a really good deal. Maybe I can scrape that much $$$ up this week. The only bad part of being retired is not having extra $$$.
Old Fishing story for you Sucky!~
by Wes Haight
and was published in the local paper....many years ago.
Here it is for your enjoyment:
"Years ago when I used to guide on the Skagit River and there was lots of steelhead and the mighty Skagit was number one in the state, I decided one evening to try above the Dalles Bridge, it was a great native steelhead hole. About the third cast out I hooked a fish and I knew I was in trouble. It was so big that at first I thought it was an early King salmon. Well, anyway, after 20-30 minutes of him running up and down the river, my line became hung up in one place. I could pull him in just so far, and it became solid. I was half sick thinking I had a world record fish, when all of a sudden a boat came drifting down. In it were skin divers looking for fishing tackle on stumps, logs, etc. One of them said he would go down and check it out for me. After a few shaky moments he came to the surface and said it was the biggest steelhead he'd ever seen, bigger than a King salmon. I asked what my line was hung up on and he said the fish was inside of an old car body someone had dumped in the river years ago. I then asked him if he could chase the fish out, and he said he'd tried but that every time he got near the car, the steelhead rolled the window up and locked the doors." Wes Haight
lolzz
I hope RR and I can get my motor running...I wanna get some King's!~
*tight lines*
