This isnt directly with astrology, but my mom one day said "we live xx lives, each sign is a lesson, and we develop as people, until we get to the end" or something... Whatever, but wouldnt it be up to when your parents fucked? I know things can happen, and it can be set. However it goes like this:
They are people to, everything they do is because of freewill, if they had to have sex at a certain date for you to be born the sign you were, it would mean someone high up pulled some strings, and therefor they do not have freewill, does any of this make sense? there are tons of ways around it, but i just felt like rambling.

maybe it's a matter of dropping the right spirit at the right time... then your parents wouldn't need to time it, your spirit would just slip in where you fit.
it could be a smooth flowing cycle of sorts...

well, theoretically, it could work. although i'd like to know why your mom thinks this. especially the thing about the sun signs being a lesson. but, it could work because it wouldn't be your parents who picked when you were born, rather it would be you (or your "spirit guide" or what have you) who picked the embryo in your mother's stomach to be your vessel in this life.
in other words, if your spirit guide wanted you to learn a lesson that would require you to be born under a certain sign and in a certain environment, where you would have a greater probability of learning the lessons that needed to be learned, then your spirit guide would simply find an empty vessel (a pregnant woman) somewhere that closely fit the requirements for your reincarnation. and it wouldn't interfere with free will at all. if she had gotten pregnant at a different time, she simply would have given birth to a different spirit, and you would have found another vessel elsewhere, with a different mother.

You're not destined to become a Taurus or a Capricorn or a Leo, but if you are born at that star alignment (or however it works) then you are a Taurus or a Capricorn or a Leo. That's the way I understood it anyhow, not that I really believe in it.
It is funny that you mentioned this today though. Today my homepage brought up a link to a career horoscope and I checked it out.

I am a Taurus and when I clicked it, I found it shockingly true. Well, I wouldn't consider myself that talented, but it was pretty much on the mark. (Check under Taurus if you want to know what I'm talking about.)
Now, here's the complicated part. My sister is also a Taurus. She was born two years after me, and in April instead of May. Would I say that the same thing applies to her? Not really, though lately I've noticed she's much more like me than I ever imagined, and she's quite a talented artist. (She makes me quite jealous at times despite the fact that I'd mostly given up on the visual arts years ago.)

those were both the same, and exactly what i was thinking when i said 'well it could work' but she doesnt know too much, i think it was kinda her way of being creative. However i agree with you, and thats why i believe it. If not directly thought astrological signs, i think they still matter, because diffrent combinations, your sign being one of them, can raise you on a certain path, and teach you some diffrent lessons. Maybe? She also told me because i was a Leo, and she was a scorpio that she was far more evolved than me. That pissed me off. I hate when people put themselves over others, even if its true, if you were that much more you would be humble about it, and not tell them, or teach them in such a way that they would appreciate your knowledge and understand you were better, not telling them. This just goes to show either her ignorance, or my ignorance. Either way i shut up cause she feeds me :P

I agree, smack is always down on himself. I guess someone has to be down on him though, it sure as hell isn't going to be me. Eww.
Smack could be the modestest guy I know.  Or maybe he's just a loser who's been right all along.
