Bush Lie Detector Test

2. Marijuana is the most dangerous drug on the planet.


The president is not a liar; therefore A and B are both true.

Wait a minute! A and B are not both true; therefore Bush is a ....

Hey, if he lied about B, then I am starting to wonder about A.

It's not a lie if he lied to himself. Then it's just "misinformation", as right-wingers will point out.

As if that helps the scenario at all. "Bush never lied! He just misled us!"

I'm no Bush supporter, but is anyone here willing to claim that Saddam was anything even close to a good leader? Did he not kill his own people? Is he not guilty of countless war crimes? Did he not violate the treaty he made? The simple fact of the matter is that Saddam was a murderer and needed to be removed. Does the fact that there are countless others like him change that fact?

I dont hate bush because of Iraq, I hate bush because he supports the war on drugs. Bush is good friends with a Saudi regime that is no better than Saddam's was.

True, Saddam was no angel, but does that mean we need to be the world police? Does that mean we need to sacrifice thousands of soldiers and hundreds of billions of dollars just because a leader in the Middle East is crazy?

I don't disagree with that; Saddam was a murderer and a bad leader. But the way that Bush went about dealing with this was absolutely insane. He rushed into the war, without global and UN support, when Iraq posed no more of a threat to the US than any other country in the world. There are always going to be crazy leaders, but that's all the more of a reason we need to make sound, logical decisions.

Sissela Bok might disagree. A lie is defined as deliberately misleading someone. Therefore, if he lied to himself, which is in fact a lie, to rationalize a lie to others, he in essence mislead himself in order to better mislead others for personal gain.

Any leader that is bad should have their country invaded if their own people will not remove them from power, this includes Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, China, Russia, France, the United States, and the Philippines, among countless other nations that support the war on drugs.

In Italy, Portugal, and Luxembourg, there has been decriminalization by law, meaning that the law does not foresee possession for personal consumption of some or of any drugs as criminal offenses. The same framework will probably be applied in the near future in Belgium, after the announced law is issued.
