You can't get poisoned just by touching mushrooms, but unless you are sure what kind of mushrooms you have, ALWAYS wash you hand after touching them. Poisonous mushrooms are much more common than edible or ethogenic ones, and the poisons can be fatal. Never eat any mushroom you find untill you have positively ID'd it.

Ya know what buddy?... I wasn't going to say anything when I saw your first 2 ignorant posts. But this one is just infuriating.
Do some motherfucking reading. Christ, that's why people write books, so they can be read and people can learn from them. I am so sick and tired of seeing these ignorant ass "r they poison" posts, for fucks sake if you read the first few pages in a mushroom ID book you would know the answers to these stupid ass questions.
And if you are going to waste peoples time with your stupid questions, at least try to have grammar skills higher then that of a 7th grader.
READ DAMNIT!

YAY! Another ignorant newbie!
If you were to pay any attention to these boards, you would see that he did not ask 1 stupid question, but he asked 3.
I wouldn't care about one or two stupid questions if he actually put any fucking effort into trying to learn about mushrooms. The questions I'm talking about are the type of questions you get from the 12 year olds who "herd eatn shroomz iz real fun," the ones who are too lazy to search for or read an informational guide. He does nothing but sit on his ass and ask the *stupidest* questions that would be answered easily if he made a tiny bit of effort to read.
Don't get me wrong, these forums are for helping others learn, but there is effort involved on both sides, and if its not there on the students side, why the fuck should anyone help them out?
There are many guides on the internet, and at the library(which are free, smart guy) that have general information on mushrooms that he could read, but nooooo... he's got to come here and harass us with his retarded questions because the information is "too long" or some lame shit like that-- sheer fucking laziness.
The "lay off the shrooms" comment isn't even worthy of a response.

"come on guys wheres the love????"
For real man! Sheesh!
Lets try and keep this somewhat professional, not just in the quaility of our questions, but our responses aswell. I know I'm not saint in this area myself, but there is a way to politely tell someone to fuck off and do some research. I doubt paul stamets would bother with such questions, but if he did I doubt he would reply in such ways.
Nothing personal against anyone, I've asked my share of dumb questions and been an asshole my share of times too. Lets atleast try a little to be civil in this forum people, we are hear to learn about wild mushrooms and hunting them safely, this means helping folks in a constructive manner and also doing a bit of research before asking for help.
Thanks,
LK,

Computer people have a polite way of telling someone to fuck off and do some reasearch:
