Flower pot one = Leucocoprinus birnbaumii = Lepiota lutea = Leucocoprinus luteus... too many synonyms, but I believe the first one is the correct one nowadays.

I was thinking A. virosa at the time I found it... that was about a year ago. Not 100% sure on that, but the patch fruits every year, I'll keep an eye out for them this year.
I'll need some help IDing them, the only amanita distinctions I can make are "those are A. muscaria, those are not." I'll send you some spores if they pop back up.

Mr_Mushrooms - feel free to use that in an FAQ. Glad you like it! I hope that description will help discourage somebody from doing something stupid and dangerous.
GGreatOne234 - thank you!
neuro - thank you! Both for your feedback and your additional input.
mintalyelevatid - maybe they shouldn't ask you then, but my personal experience is what guided that part of the description. If you walk in, one of the first questions you get is about your insurance.
zeta - GumbyDude has it. And, yes, the first one is the "official" name right now. (Way to go Gumby!)
-------------------- Happy mushrooming!

Don't forget with the all white Amanitas to check the basidia. The biggest difference between A. virosa and A. bisporigera is 4-spored and (mostly) 2-spored basidia, respectively.
Another important check is for yellowing with KOH. A. virosa turns instantly yellow, but A. verna does not.
Of course, all of these are quite deadly. Since only one specimen of one of them (A. bisporigera) has ever been found in Colorado, I have little experience IDing them. Assuming he updates his web page, you will probably find Dr. Rob Tulloss' page to be helpful. You'll find the species above under Section Phalloideae.
-------------------- Happy mushrooming!

Here?s a few pics of the Satan?s bolete. I found a million of these this year...
This one shows the QUICK bluing to the stem... It also bruises blue on the cap and pores:
Here is a closeup of the RED pores, before they turn blue:
This one shows the overly bulbous base, and pink and red appearance of the mushroom itself.
Boletus satanas grows under oak during the fall and winter, right about the time the edulis start popping up. If you find one pink like this, I advise you to throw it out!

Here is a picture of Omphalotus olivascens. Or the Jack-O-Latern mushroom.
To the untrained eye, you can see how it might appear to be a Chantrelle! Notice that the coloration is darker, and they have very deep long gills. They also have a WHITE sporeprint...and usually growing directly from oak stumps, unlike chantrelles, which favor humus.

Arg, thats one of the mushrooms on my "must find" list. Did you check to see if the gills glowed(glew?) in the dark?
